I love the 'Gills' on the 5th Gen ZL1, iconic from the '69 Camaro

I owned a 2013 ZL1. I miss how easy it was to start off in first gear. The bogging issue drives me crazy sometimes. Some say they have it and other don't. I had high hopes that the Mamo throttle body would resolve this issue, but I didn't feel any changes. Other than that, the 6th gen is better in every way

its a toss up for me as I have 4 young children and what that means is an extra couple rides a month because I can take a few along with me and because of the stupidity of the size of car seats I can only take one with me in the Camaro. PLUS I can take the V to the track a few times a year for some fun on the road course and do better than with a gen5 and almost as good as a gen6 but much better than with my Hellcat. certified V's are selling around $60k right now with 20,000 miles. Add a pulley and intake enhancements and I'm all over a stock Zl1

Night and day difference. The 5th Gen was a great car but the 6th Gen is leaps and bounds better.

I would probably still have my black M6 5th gen ZL1 if GM did not buy it back. I did not like the Recaros though. The new Recaros are perfect for me. My ultimate 5th gen ZL1: Black Sunroof Nav M6 full boltons It would be faster than my current mostly stock ZL1 and NO M6 bog here. You can easily install LTs on this version in 2 hours and buy those LTs for $500. Not so the new one. I still have a 5th gen NPP full system with a resonator to calm down and lower the LT screamy boominess.

I had a 2015 Gen5 ZL1 M6.
The Gen6 has everything you love about the Gen5 except better. The one win I might give to the Gen5 is that it may have been slightly roomier inside? Could be my imagination. But I like it tight like a cockpit. And of course the Gen6 has the option for Aero, wider tires, lighter, tighter suspension and DSSV straight from the factory. Just check the "1LE" box.

I currently have a 2013 & 2018 ZL1's, both are red convertibles. When we take both cars to car shows the wife drives the 2013 as she likes it better as she loves all the extra power we added to the car. I personally love both cars!

5th Gens were definitely roomier and easier to work on. 6th Gen is on a different performance level in every performance category. If I were to buy a 5th Gen ZL1 it would be a cheap high mileage one and the goal would be to do heavy mods including a built engine and trans.

I currently own both a '13 and '17 ZL1. The '13 is definitely a bit roomier than the new one but the '17 feels like the car is built around the driver. It is what I would imagine a fighter jet cockpit would feel like to an extent. The '13 feels a bit more docile than the "wild child" demeanor of the new car.. Don't get me wrong, the '13 is far from slow, it's just not as manic as the new one. In some ways I still prefer some of the angles of the '13. I like the deliberate attempt to bring back some of the styling cues from the '69 Camaro.

I recently bought a V3. I came from a 2016 2SS with an LT4 blower. The V3 performance wise is a beast. Feels every bit as fast as the supercharged Camaro if not faster (mine was pushing stock ZL1 numbers). Handling is excellent, ride quality is a bit better than the Camaro but not as comfortable as I was expecting for a caddy, and interior is obviously leaps and bounds ahead of the Camaro.
The V get a ton of attention. People come up to me all the time at the gas pumps or in parking lots and comment on how awesome the car is. They are so rare (relative to the Camaro) that when someone actually sees one in person, they are excited. The elephant in the room is the A8. If you can get lucky enough to find one without a shudder, I would say the V is a no brainer. However if you end up with one with the shudder, good luck. Mine has 1700 miles and has had it since it had 200 mi on the clock. It’s pretty bad. I’m just praying the newest “fix” works otherwise I may not be able to put up with it. Which is a shame because I love the car otherwise. IMO it’s essentially a ZL1 with four doors. |

My options are keep the Hellcat and get a gen5 for track days or keep Hellcat and get a gen6 and ask for forgiveness later and end up selling the one that doesn't get driven. Or get a V3 and let Hellcat go. I've found a '17 w/ carbon and saffron for $68k under 20k miles certified. I really feel that a V3 w/ intake mods will steal the attention away from the Hellcat. My experience with V2's were awesome
