Output Driveshaft Twisted

Hello its a sad day My camaro is in the Shop with no driveshaft!
Can anyone tell me if this has been happing to anyone else i heard a little bit of info that a handful of peoples tranny's are being recalled

I have the 2ss with 6m and i was driving home one morning all of the sudden BANG as i pulled over the damage was already done and my driveshaft was hanging it looks like the problem was the conection to the tranny now they are waiting on the word if its going to be covered???? this i dont understand ????

They have to check the computer and transmission tunes to see if they are factory tunes. If not they void the drivetrain warranty on the car and you have to pay.

You were just driving along when the failure occurred? Have you raced your car?

This is a known issue with some 6 speed manual transmissions. As long as he hasn't tuned his car or done anything to the engine, it should be covered...

They know which ones are bad. They replaced mine and called to say problem. GM told them to put it up on the rack and check serial number after it was finished. Said out of the bad batch. I told them I would baby it until they got a good transmission and then took it back in and swapped out the second bad transmission.

You are entitled to a rental if covered under warranty. You can rent and demand reimbursement.

They bear the burden to prove ANY modification caused the part to break, tune, power adder, etc. You can sue under the Manguson-Moss warranty act for attorney fees and damages. I can send a threat to sue letter and some follow up for $200.00. I have a web site http://divorcefor399.com
Website has lots of info. including how to view any Louisiana law on La. Legislature web site. Working on a page for advise on DWI.

The output shaft from the transmission is an issue. I have two clients whom have already broken theirs. Unfortunately there are no upgrades currently, but we are working with a machinist to develop a 300m heat treated unit to upgrade for those people who have this issue, its going to be the weak link i believe here.

We also have seen that carrier bolts back out, or twist and sheer off causing the drive-shaft to sheer or twist. Whats bad is the fact the gas tanks are back there, and defiantly will get damaged...

Here is something that is a great idea BMR is releasing this soon, an I have several kits on preorder, i think this is really a great safety device for all to consider.

I just got mine back from the dealer. They installed a new tranny and the rear ficial because it was melted from the GMP exhaust they installed. Before i left the guy said it was melting because of the headers. Took them Almost 2 weeks to get it back to me. I do have HP tune, 1"7/8 long tubes , off road pipes, 25% under drive pully, and a air intake.
