and I'm trying to make a few extra payments on the wife's car so it'll be paid off in time to get the new one and hopefully keep the SS at the same time.

HAHA! 5 tickets at 16 is pretty good! I had 14 total by the time I was 21. I realized that it began to cost me a bit too much. They were all highway tickets...87 in 65...90 in 70...etc. It takes time to be financially set to get the car you want. And once it's done, all on your own, it is such a rewarding feeling. I'll never forget when I called Dad and told him he no longer had to worry about being on my car note...that's when I bought my Z28. That was a turning point.

Here's some kind advice. Don't run. You can always outrun the cops, but you can't outrun the radio. And usually there's always more in the direction your headed. Plus, all they need is your license plate. Usually, if it's just a traffic infraction, they'll call off the chase. But, they will get you later. Not worth it bro. Take the ticket and avoid jail time. It's all part of owning a muscle car.

One on one driving on the highway, you'd be gone..pretty much for sure. One on one driving on city streets, you'd have, I'd say, a %10 chance of getting away. Police officers do high speed chase senarios all the time. They get to practice and learn the best techniques. Trust me....

When I had my old Z28 I was racing a friend and we got pulled over. I was crapping my pants, but the cop was really cool. He just wanted to know about our cars.

I was trying to reply to this as my internet provider so rudely stoped working..... usually, if your cool w/ them and don't give attitude, it's no ticket for the driver. However, I've found that if you mess w/ them, they can write for a while. I don't have a plate up front. It's the original SLP front fascia w/out a plate holder. Law says you need to have one in TX, but I'm not going to change it. It's just one more thing that cops can use to get into you life, though.

yeah i got a ticket for no front plate only once and it was because they didnt have anything else to get me on. BS if you ask me. i really was doing nothing wrong and they just pulled me over and asked where the palte was. i told them at home becasue im selling the car and im not gonna put it back on. well i had to go to manditory court in this county where i got pulled over about 10 min south of cleveland, they asked if i put the plate on adn i said no. they said are you going to , i said no im selling the car im not gonna drill holes in the front of the car to put it on. they said ok your ticket is for 130.00 needless to say that was the last time i drove to that shop in cleveland to work on my car.

Dude...you shoulda told them you'd put it on. Then, they'd either reset your court date until you could prove it was back on (w/ pix), or they'd probably just dismiss it. If they reset the court date, ... oops, I sold the car. I no longer have control over it and here is the bill of sale. Or, yeah, I put it back on, but I sold the car. Therefore, I can't prove it, but I sure hope you'd take my word for it and I apologize. Dismissed.

My SS was ordered w/ the special front facia and I wouldn't drill holes in that for anything. It stays original. Period. That's when I say, "That front facia was a $350 option ordered on the car and I purchased it from another state. I'm not altering the state of my vehicle thus lessening it's current value just to add a plate. I'm in a lose lose situation". They would understand in a personal way, but still might have a job to do. Then again, they just might say screw it. It's a waste of their time.

it wouldnt have worked out for me like that. this county where it was at ,sucks. they pulled me over and made me go to court no matter what it was for. if they made me drive all the way up there for court, i was goign to have to pay no matter what. so i figured id be a little bit of a "dick " for my hassle of going up there

Sup guys im new to the site..but i have some feedback on this...i think that chevy should come out with three different powertrains for the camaro..the v-6 for the base models...an ls2 for the z28 models, and an ls7 for the ss models....that way theirs a base model v6 priced in the low 20's and a v-8 thats priced in the mid 20's..which basically is wat ppl r lookin for..v8 performance in the mid 20's...then the ppl who r willin to pay the extra cash and get the 7 liter badass...which would be priced in the lower or mid 30s...i think if they can do that the camaros will fly off the lots and be a huge sucess..i just cant wait to see how it turns out in 08 so i can trade my ws6 for one...lol

Yea due to technology consitantly upgrading iteslf...by 08 the ls2 might be replaced by somthin else...but i think the ls7 will stay for a while...that thing is unbeliveable for a production motor

I'm not blind and I'm obviously not illiterate. I can read just fine and understood all you were saying. If I was mistaken for what you wrote, I would have asked for clarification. Obviously others, including yourself, disagree w/ my OPINION which I am entitled to. I wasn't beginning another disagreement w/ you in my last post. I was simply laughing and saying "here we go again". I think you "weren't reading what I was writing".
