Clear Bra installed on LT- is this right????

Ok...so I had the only company in Southwest Virginia do an install of the clear bra on my car today (2LT)...he said he used Avery

When he first went to put the fender piece on it didn't match up and he left and came back with the LT piece- I think he had the SS one cut the first time...

Anyway- the coverage is totally different- the SS one would have covered the ledge in front of the lights- the one I have now does not.

There is also a V split right on the "apex" that is now not covered- the installer said this is how the LT kit comes

the next two pictures show the front and how it matches to the upper hood/fender piece...

Any installers out there?!?!?! help!!!!

Doesn't look right to me , your installer B.S. you when he said that this is how the LT kit comes or he doesn't know what he's doing. I would have him get the LT kit that is cut for your car and have him redo it the RIGHT way like it should have been done in the beginning ..

Here's the Complete " LS - LT " Clear Bra Kit from X-PEL on my "SIM" Camaro ...
I had the upper and lower fasica done including the fog & headlights , signal lamps , side mirrors , front and rear wheel opening , rocker panels , door sills all done for $900.00 out the door ... This was the first and most important Mod to do on my "Camaro Mod List" ( as you can see in the last picture) ...

Check it out here :

" GOOD LUCK " ..

something is amiss you know it, I know it, folks that look at this will also. I personally would have stopped him in his tracks If in deed he was speaking the truth I would have bailed on the install. I think he tried to shove it on you. So even if you get others to agree that it is wrong what is your recourse?? Not sure.... other than removal of the affected pieces and have them redone properly. Sorry to see it bro Hope you can save some of it.

I am an installer and can tell you that you have a bad install. Those pictures tell me your installer doesn't know what he is doing. I am in Austin this weekend for some install work but feel free to call me tomorrow during the day and I will speak with you about your install ANC how to resolve it. PM is sent with my phone number.

YOU HAVE TO BE FN KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

No its just plain WRONG!!!!!! Did they use the right template cos that is not even close.
I had 3m Clearbra put on mine as soon as I got my 2SS/RS. I have top point out to people the clear bra, even then they they still dont even notice it.

BTW the V split should be on the horizontal ledge (it is on my SS)

Gert your money back or get it redone!!!

SHAMEFULL!! Hope you get it sorted out soon. This car is the bees knees not a Geo!! It deserves first class treament not the dollar store input!

thanks all...I figured it looked jacked up- just wanted to make sure I wasn't being crazy...

fee5fofum- thanks for the photos- I think they may prove very helpful in proving to the installer that it can be done better

htp autoworks- can't wait to get some advice from an installer- I really feel that I just flushed $700 down the drain

its a homemade relief cut. not kitted for sure. the upper bumper section looks wrong.
to me, this looks like film designs kit., but there are so many 2nd and third rate softwares out there, can't tell for sure.
xpel and proform kits seem the best to me so far for the camaro.
the installer prolly thinks its a pass, and may help you out, maybe not. most warranties generally do not have a satisfaction warranty. the film supplier, nor the pattern library owners will not help you either. i would suggest personally viewing his recent past work and asking a lot of questions. best case...he gives you you money back and strips the bumper. do not take the car away with film on, as i suspect a handy knife mark center bumper.

UPDATE:
So I contacted the installer and showed him pictures of fee5fofum's install. I respectfully requested an install that was up to that standard and covered the areas shown.

He contacted me tonight saying he would order new film and contact me with an install date...I'll let everyone know how round 2 goes.

On a side note- I just want to say thanks to everyone for helping me see that this was a bad install and providing me pictures of an appropriate install. I think this goes a long way in showing my installer that I am not being unreasonable in my request and also that I am not an average uninformed customer.

Finally- A huge thanks to Thom of HTP Autoworks! He took over a half an hour out of his busy day to talk to me over the phone about my install and things I should look for and do to make things better. With me in VA and him in TX, he knew he would not make a dime off of me; but treated me exactly as if I was his best customer. I think that says a lot about the type of person he is and he should be recognized. I only wish my wife would approve a TX road trip.

Any newbies (like me) reading this- this forum and it's members are incredible- I have never seen such a great group of people willing to help each other out whenever they can. Every day I love being a 5th Gen owner more and more...

thanks again...

Happy I could help you out. Keep us posted on the second install. I would imagine he would provide a better product the second go around. I just feel bad you had to deal with this in the first place. There are a lot of poor installers out there producing bad work... and even some cut the paint all up... and it looks bad on the industry as a whole. I always recommend doing some research on the installer first... references are always a good idea. In your case you just didnt have a choice.

I'm happy and are hoping things do work out for you and that my pictures helped you out to prove a point that the install was incorrect and needed to be fixed and installed the right way for your Camaro !

Please keep us posted and send the pictures when done..

UPDATE

well unfortunately it looks like I'm back to square one...

I have written my installer 4 times asking when we could do a re-install- he replied saying he would try to "fit me in" soon. I told him I really didn't want to be "fit in" as this implies to me a potential rush job. In addition, I kinda want this done soon as I am limiting my driving until I have good protection.

Also, since the install, both corners near the lower air dam have bubbled up and now have dirt behind them. I brought this to his attention and he replied that clearly I was not going to be happy no matter what he did so he would rather just give my money back...

Problem is there is noone near that does it...oh well...where's HTPAUTOWORKS when you need him!!!

So is he refunding your money wihtout removing the film? And did he not replace it after we spoke? I have talked to him directly in the paint protection film forum after calling him out on it in front of other installers and his story was a little different... but I know yours is the truth. I am very dissapointed in him for not providing better work than that... and trying to push that off on you in the first place.

Give me a call today and lets chat some more. I have really cut my interstate travel back but I may come up there and do some work for you soon since you have had to deal with all of this. Lets chat and I will see what I can do. In the mean time if he is refunding your money without removing the film you will at least have some pretection on there until you can get it properly installed.
