Me too. Maybe the Volt can be the savin grace GM needs. We don't know what's in the works (what was) but the Volt can't hurt anything.

something I've said before that I pray to God will happen for this car:

GM has done alot of testing and tuning for different variants of the new Camaro... GM doesn't have to offer a Z28 and get all of the certifications done for a production car... offering all of the parts to make your own Z28 through the GMPP aftermarket branch of GM could easily justify the time and effort of testing and tuning the car and the equipment... and save GM a HUGE investment by not having to bring the car fully to market.

so my question to everyone is this:
if your local Chevy dealership offered a $7500 package that included the supercharger, a computer flash for said supercharger, a set of stiffer springs and some nifty Z28 badges, would you buy it?
would you have the dealership install it? or would you install it yourself?
would you be more interested in this package if it were to carry a 36month/30,000mile warranty if installed by a GM certified install technician?

oh, and the LS7 might not be quite as dead as we had originally thought... check out some of the recent offerings by the Aussies to get a better idea of why I say this

I say yes; at the same time (not to be argumentative) I ask whether or not the rest of the drivetrain will take it... YES

ahhhhh, see, that's where the testing and tuning of the car comes in... GM has already done some testing of the driveline with this setup (c'mon, folks, you know the car's out there... its just not being talked about), so they already know what to the tolerances are for horsepower and suspension upgrades... so the computer flash that comes with this nifty package would take you to the limits of what the driveline can hold... if you modify it farther, you void the warranty... see where this is going?

Hmm... I see where you're coming from. Encouraging, indeed. The price of the package suggested earlier sounds low, ONLY, because I think the Maggy', for the G8, starts at like $6500 or something, and that's just for the SC and related hardware. Don't get me wrong, at $7500, that would be a STEAL!!! Only if *day dreaming*...

$7500 dealer installed. S/C should be ~5g, struts and springs ~1g, Dealer install ~1500. Or sell it to me for $6 I'll do it myself. I'll take the badges in an envelope in the glovebox, and get LT badges Maybe they can ship the items in the trunk with the car from the factory.

Might also consider this, intake/cam/head/exhaust upgrade, standard Hurst short throw shifter, upgrade tires/wheels/suspension, different front fascia, 69 RS style grill, Recaro CLOTH seats, different gauge faces, factory 1" flared front & rear fender wells, ...stop me when I get to 10 grand lol.

It's my understanding cafe applies to pickups as well as cars, that's just madness!

I like your sleeper mentality, but it just doesn't apply to the Camaro's sheer badassery. It's really no secret that this car is amazing, and I'm sure a lot of other drivers won't think of revving to get your attention.

Yeah, it is...the LS7 lasted a total of about 5 months in the Holden commodore HSV427. Which has now been changed to...you guessed it. LS3. Car got pretty good reviews, I think it's pretty close to what our camaro will run like.

I'm still trying to figure out why this car with the LS3 costs 80 grand though...

With gas +- 30% over a two month period...it's no wonder it's hard for GM to make these types of decisions....although, i think these special niche vehicles are not intended to bring in huge margins...or am i wrong?
