Plant shutting down for Christmas or not?

I see a lot of people getting TPW for 21st and some for the 28th of Dec. The plant must be closed some time for Christmas and New Years. Usually all factories close for 2 weeks during this time. Anyone read anywhere if they are open or closed? My dealer said they are closed for 2 weeks at Christmas time. I don't think the order board is that backed up like it was back in the summer, I can't see them working right up to Christmas Eve.

I'm not sure what's going on for the plants holdiay time. I am one of those guys that have a TPW of 12/21. I talked to the lady on the phoen today and she informed me of that date. I asked her even with it being the Christmas week and she said yes it will be built that week. So fingers crossed that my baby will actually be built that week so I can bring her home at the start of a New Year...What a way to start!

The last day of Camaro production will be December 23. The plant would normaly start up again Janurary 4th but they have scheduled that week as down time to get the line ready for other products... i.e. Camaro convertable, Buick Regal. The Camaro plant will resume production on Jan. 11, 2010.

Well good news that the plant is open for the half week so they can build my car! But chances of the car being built/stripped/and then shipped before that day are probably slim...

Still going to bring in the new year with the biggest smile on my face when she arrives!

My order was placed Nov 20, my dealer had an allocation right then. I actually don't want the car until late winter, so honestly for me any delay is no problem because the car would just sit anyway!

I had the exact same mentality until my dealer notified me my build week. Super excitement has taken over my "wait till the winter is over mentality" lol

I remember there was a post just recently where someone said all the orders got pushed back a week for some reason. Maybe this is the time slot?

I contacted GM again yesterday after I read Scotty's post, and I still have a TPW of 12/21...The girl also told me that it is the commited date for my build and it will not change from here on in (Don't know if I believe that 100%, but o well).

Got my TPW of 12/21 yesterday too. My question is will the transports also shutdown with the plant or will they keep running in the week after. I don't have stripes on mine so the moment it leaves the plant it's ready to be shipped. Would be so cool to get one of the last 2009 built cars . I also assume that the transports will continue to go even when the line is shutdown for the convertible upgrades.
