Just curious if anyone else noticed the rise in bot/spam instances on the site and if it was something on the forum's software end..

There's a few that leak through ever now and again...some are more subtle than others.
This latest movie-spammer has been given the hammer.

The forum has been upgraded a few times to help prevent them from getting through. The trouble is the bots/spammers adapt, too...nothing we can do but show them the door -- forcefully.

Yes you can. And it does help...because at nearly 10,000 visits per day. and thousands of posts...we can't be everywhere at once (though we come close...). So reporting these posts goes a long way to help us get rid of them quickly.

Just for your info, there should be automatic banning tools at vb.org in the mod section.

Used one in my forum. Good luck, ask any questions if you guys need help!

There is a tool that runs the account and bans it automatically so nothing gets missed. Just a suggestion

we do use "delete posts as spam" tool, however we first need to see a post by that spammer.
