The warranty has nothing to do with RIV Canada.

It is 6 months and 12,000 km before GM in Canada will honor the warranty. After that it is full warranty. There is no fee.

The car must be used ( not a demo) for a USA dealer to sell it to a Canadian.

You need a " recall letter " from the USA dealer before you cross the border. GM Canada has a new policy to charge for the letter.

The DRL switch has to be altered or the car will fail at inspection.

You pay no USA taxes but you do pay the GST at the border and PST once it passes the Provincial inspection that you pay for over and above the RIV fee. If the car fails you pay for the reinspection.

You buy US insurance that covers you from the point of purchase and another policy in Canada from the border to your drive way. After that it is permits until it is passed by both FED and Provincial inspections.

Add air travel, accommodations, gas , USA permit, BC permit, ICBC ins from A to B ( no side trips) RIV fee, exchange, bank fees ( they will not take a CDN BANK DRAFT) meals , and your time off work.

You must the be symbol of patience. I ordered mine in late September and am only getting in now in the next week (I hope). At this rate your would have been waiting a YEAR before yours is made and delivered. Seriously find another dealer and get your deposit back.

Dealer called me it's being built in Feb, but I still don't know what to do. I see some of the cars for sale on ebay for 35 K and I'm paying 47K. I can deal with MPH gauges for saving 10K even after all the stuff if you save 5 K that isn't bad.

Honestly just wondering why people arn't doing it? Especially since the dollar is so close to par.

Eveyrone is doing it............. 60,000 vehicles in one month last year.

You just need to do the home work to make sure you are on solid ground when you jump on a plane. As more used 2010 hit the lots it will be easier.

Don't forget to tell both sides of customs that you have more than $10,000 or you will be getting an anal probe.
