GM did it with the SS LS3 (426hp) when compared to the Challenger SRT8 (425hp).

Either way, the Mustang still isn't getting an IRS. Check out how loose that backend gets in this Motor Trend video...

Go Camaro! But it was closer than it's been with a sales lead of 624 by the Camaro

He was all over the place in that video. You could definately tell the driver was pushing the Mustang a lot harder too...

Actually, if you look at the numbers month by month, the gap between Mustang sales and Camaro sales is actually closing despite the 2011 Mustang being right around the corner for Ford.

GM sold only 624 more Camaros than Ford did Mustangs in January. Compare that to the gap back in October (3293 cars).

Oh well. I knew I should have actually graphed the numbers before making that comment.

probably the main reason the mustang is gaining some ground is they have 0% financing for 60 months, that makes a huge difference in payments compared to GM with 4.99% here in canada that is, not sure what rate they have in the US.

Pretty good numbers.. even with a vacation, maybe in february the sales might skyrocket or something because we are sure to get SOME ex-toyota drivers in a new camaro... maybe?

Anybody dumb enough to buy a 2010 (non-Shelby) Mustang instead of a 2010 Camaro or waiting for the 2011 Mustang is dumb enough that their sales shouldn't be counted.

Acknowledging stupidity is the start of a slippery slope toward embracing stupidity - and ultimately encouraging it.

Hence the logic in his user name.

You're right. But then, why buy a new car of any year model? Rarely does any make or model of car not see an improvement or refinement over the outgoing model year.

Considering only a very small percentage of all buyers even care about the performance aspects of a car, I doubt the extra horsepower the 2011 Mustang brings to the table trumps the crazy deals you can get on a 2010 Mustang right now. Just a thought.

I think it's safe to say we're gonna hit 100,000 Camaro's by March 16.
