Hoping the nice weather gets here so I can get some nice outdoor shots and "borrow" a few of their cars, aka ZR1 and SLP575.

Yeah, I found them. It's just hard to find good pics of the cars together. I can't have one without the other. LOL, just wouldn't make sense Running out of ideas.

So I know SLP will not sell this hood alone, its strictly for ZL's, But say you crack the hood or something like that and need to order another one, how does that work? Is there something you have to give them to prove you are an owner or can I just call and say I got one and I need a new hood?

Anyone know?

Yes it was- The picture I took of it didn't come out very good but I met Dave Hamburger of SLP and got a signed poster. Scott (fbodfather) also signed my Camaro book. Definately worth the trip to R.I.

Here's Hylton's mailslot delete secret:

1. Start with an SS fascia from GM.

2. Find yourself a doner bumper made of the same material.

3. Cut 2 pices out of the doner bumper which cover each side of the mail slot.

4. Melt pieces into one another.

5. Sand down flush after the weld.

6. Finish and paint.

I saved the original front fascia if I want to go back to original but it is the exact same part as the one I started with. These pictures pretty much show you what was done:

Body shop would need this to make the weld he speaks of..

How much is the hood without paint?

I tried to have another vendor see if they could order the hood alone and this is the response from SLP

The ZL hood is actually exclusive for the ZL package cars only and is not available to the public, however we did design a hood similar and I believe a little more aggressive that you can buy. Here is the link http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=100035 retail is $1,095. Thanks, Don

Somebody help me out with the mail slot. Why did they plug it? It isn't functional on the standard SS anyways. I don't get get it. Why not just leave it alone?

I'm going to go with an after market hood and do not like the mail slot with the hood I want.. I'd rather have the facia smooth..

That's a pretty slick job of blocking out the front air intake.

After looking at the filler panel, I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me as much as it initially did. I think the stripes continuing past the hood help out the visual aspect of the filler panel.

They told me that the white w/ orange SLP ZL575 has been sold, but they are getting in a black with orange SLP ZL575 soon.

So more pictures to come

Just hoping they have one I can get a ride in when the weather breaks here in Buffalo.
