SLP Z28... Just my guess. Why not? Ford has the Shelby GT500.

There's much at work regarding this statement in the realm of trademark and copyright ownership....

If it's for real, I think I might try to talk my wife into selling the Mustang. On the other hand, the 2010 Mustang GT is really nice and I'm thinking of dropping a Ford Racing supercharger in it (resulting in either 400 rwhp or 475 rwhp). It would cost between $5000 to $7000 (installed). I suppose it will be her decision ultimately. My wife has always been a Camaro girl (except for the 2010).

Please note: I'm NOT trying to stir up a debate about her choice of the Mustang over the Camaro - please don't start flaming her decision or how the Mustang sucks. Anyway, if anyone has accurate info on the Z28, to include HP ratings (rear wheel), please post-up! Thanks.
motor trend's site says "The Z28 is a GO" and will come out in late 2011 and is on their site i will post the link below.... BTW!!! its is suppose to have the CTS-V's LSA with 556hp and will be faster to CTS-V due to weight as it is lighter.

It continues to amaze me. Ford guys think their shit is so great. Why then do you need DOHC and 4 valves per cyl. plus forced air to beat a production pushrod engine with 2 valves per cyl. Face it, when it comes down to it Ford just can't compete. New slogan for the Mustang. "You can't fix stupid"!

As a result of this thinking, if the Z28 see's the light of day (Which I think it will sooner or later) it will be the top of the line Camaro.

Now there is a Crevat to that, it is possible that the top dog engine wise would be a "ZL1" or something, and then they would make a Z28 that would be like a leaner track car.

But pretty sure that if they only make a Z28 in the near future it will be the highest trim level on the car.

So what's wrong with an SS version of Colbalt, HHR, Impala, etc. Historically go back to the 60s/70s and find SS Novas, Impalas, and probably the car that defines SS more than any other, the SS 396 Chevelle.

You are probably right about the Z28, but if they followed history there, it would be better represented by turbo/super charging the V6.

Now, if they would only come out with a 5th gen COPO

What makes you think "it would be better represented by turbo/supercharging the V6"?? I don't see where "history" supports that theory at all. If you wanted to follow history/heritage, then a new Z/28 would be a 5.0-5.5 L high revving powerhouse and have a suspension almost ready for full out road racing. Sorry, I just don't think a V6 would do justice in a new Z/28, turbo/supercharged or not.

You know what needs to happen? GM needs to build an AWD Impala, and equip an SS version of it with a TT V6 to fight off the SHO. And they need to build a Crossfire-like Buick, and equip a sport version of it with a TT V6 to fight off the 370z and Audi TT.

This needs to happen so we can see what GM is capable of doing with a TTV6 without trying to shoehorn it into every new Camaro model that comes out.

I'd love to see a retro Chevelle or Nova. Give those the TTV6... but also offer an SS trim for the Chevelle fitted with a version of the LS-3.

It would be bigger than the Camaro, heavier than the Camaro, more cargo space, and looser suspension. All of this making it a little less expensive than the Camaro. Old fashioned kinda stuff!!

Understand that I'm not a Chevelle lover.. I'd just like to see the classics return.
