your 5000 and 4000 series rotors. Are they both cross drilled and slotted or just slotted?

you can get them in either, the XS are slotted and drilled, while the SL are slotted,

the 5000 are only available on the front, and 4000 for the rear, as 5000 on the rear isn't really needed.

HAWK HPS Street vs Ceramic Street. Which has the greater stopping power? Which is quieter compared to the stock pads. I can't decide which to buy. I do want less dust.

Less dust, and squeal the Ceramics would be your choice. Should also be an improvment in stopping as well over the stockers.

The Hawk Ceramic would be the best choice.

Good price, a little cheaper than TireRack.

TireRack also has Brembo Rotors at a very good price.

I run the Ceramics on both of out cars, the GTO and the SRT8, along with the DBA rotors, they work very well together.

When i go to the track i swap them out for something a bit more aggressive, but for the street they are good.

The standard bedding in process consists of about a dozen hard stops from 50 to 5mph, after which you let the brakes cool back to ambient temperature. Do not use your ebrake with hot brakes, and do not stay stopped for for more than a few seconds with your foot on the brake pedal.

These are HARD stops. You are trying to transfer pad material to the rotor. This maximizes friction.

I have the Hawk HP Street on the front of mine, stock on back. Wanted to see how the dust is compared to stock before buying all 4.
After 10,000 miles on them I have to say, there is no noise. I have to wipe the dust off the rear wheels(stock pads) every couple hundred miles,
the Hawk HPS pads on the front hardly put any dust on the wheels at all.
And the Hawk HPS pads stop way better than stock pads.

May be a stupid question - do you need to add the brembo adhered pad and silver plate back on if you go with the ceramics?
