WIKI TR-6060 Info ..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremec_...0_transmission

The Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission features six forward speeds and one reverse speed. It is derived from the Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission. The forward helical cut gears are synchronized while the reverse gear operates through a fully-synchronized constant-mesh system. The TR-6060 sports removable wear pads on the shift forks, and uses aluminum alloys for the main case, extension housing, and clutch housing. It is manufactured by Transmission Technologies Corporation and is rated for 600 ftlbf (810 Nm) of torque.

I like that it mentions the torque capacity. It's not much different from the T-56 so I guess it's not "news" but it's good to have it in writing.

I wonder if they buff it up for the Viper considering it's got what like 550, 560 lbft?

Wikipedia is not an accurate source of information. Try looking up the manufacturer information from tremec not wikipedia. The version of the tr6060 in the Camaro is rated for 450lbft of torque.

The TR6060 transmission gets several upgrades to ready it for ZR1 duty, but they are all internal: the casing was already beefed-up for all 2008 Corvettes in anticipation of handling the torque of the upcoming LS9. This is good news for enthusiasts, as base and Z06 owners should be able to swap in ZR1 internals if the need arises on high-horsepower race applications.

i guess it will hold up to ZR1 power then it needs upgrading.

Still looking for the link from you from the manufacturer .. from there site, I see that the T-56 was rated around 450 (and we know that the 450 was VERY conservative as many have not had any issues with putting much more through it ) .. I can't believe that what replaced it wouldn't be improved and rated higher ..
