THAT is how they should have done the keyhole. or at LEAST move it to the center below the bow tie emblem ala the other GM cars like my Monte .
Yeah, I will stick with the Coupe version anyway. I want the Z28 though.

Glad ABM forced me to buy back in October, because I was going to wait for the convertible. The third brake light and antenna really look out of place, and the keyhole. Other than those three items, I love it. And I like what they did with the backup sensors.

Kinda hard to tell from the pic, but how would stripes work on the trunk lid with that 3rd brake light? Go over it or around it?

What's different about the sensors? Looks the same as mine. Hate the keyhole position!! Also, from this angle we can't tell if the mast antenna is still there or not, it may be there but without the actual antenna attached.

IMO (purely) but coupe is the way to go for this car. It looses some of its menacing looks in rag-top form..however I only like very few verts on the whole...

That said I can appreciate it and respect anyone wanting to get one...

Wink

another option but $$$ swap the trunk lid from a hard top and then put the third brake late were you want it .

Very Very nice car. Would like to see a side view. My opinions to others that were mentioned.
1. Key hole can be painted body color very easily. Some are not old enough to remember key holes under car emblems and how impossible they were to open in the winter when they were frozen shut with ice.

2. For those who like or dislike the heritage grill, why not offer it as an option dealer or otherwise just like the aero package

3. Third brake light is nicer than some I've seen. It's a convertible where are you going to put it? Could mount it in the trunk lid above the bowtie but now you have to manufacture a separate trunk. This is more cost effective.

4. For the convertible as well as the coupe, the antenna needs to be in the mirrors like the Corvette ( or where ever the heck they put it).

1. I agree and people don;t remember after a few years the springs get weak and those emblems start to sag and droop...

2. I have always been one that thinks the Heritage grill should have been part of the RS package...

3. the 3rd brake light Hmm I wonder if they could have designed a new Onstar Antenna with that built in, kill 2 birds with one antenna..LOL

4. are you talking about the radio or the Onstar/Xm antenna? if the sharkfin was just painted body color it would look better...

i'm guessing no fold down rear seat? or with the top down you can't get back there to emergency release the trunk if the electronic latch quits working??
Bet there isnt enough room under there for keyhole/linkage to work correctly

Deck lid swap with coupe and then go with GMPP spoiler (if ever released with integrated brake light) done and done

some one might need that to get into trunk..esp if electric open faults..or manual cable?.. but electric parts can fail..and since the conv prob has no other way in trunk, how would YOU get in?

Still waiting and waiting for the Vert. Every little bit of info keeps us holdouts halfway sane I think.

OK. MY 2 cents worth...

I can live with the Onstar/xm antana AND the brake light, but wtf were they thinking placing the key hole to the side???? Afraid they might disrupt their precious little "bowtie"???

So what about abandoning the key hole altogether, giving the vert a nice LOCKING gas door and placing a manual cable release inside there?? Thats what I'll do if it's not corrected. (or simply cover it somehow).

Still planning on buying no matter what, but agree this was not thought out. Hope a GM rep/engineer can weight in on this.
