I thought that's what I said. Bottom line is you cannot enter the Dragon from TN and if you enter it from NC you can drive it towards and into TN but must turn around and go back to NC. Done it.

Well, you put in that you could only get to deals gap, and you can go past there... You never really mentioned being able to travel the entire 11 miles of the Dragon still.. just seemed like you were saying the Tennessee side was completely closed (and that is where 90% of the Dragon is located). I just wanted to make sure everyone understood that if you wanted to drive the dragon, there was still a way to get there...

Hi everyone, it's time for our next meet and is going to be a different one. We will be going on a road trip to Cherohala Skyway on July 11, 2010. First we will meet at 7:30 A:M Shoney's in Lenoir City on Exit 81/75 South that's if you are traveling from Knoxville to Chattanooga. We will be having breakfast and leaving at 8:30 A:M sharp. If you are not having breakfast just be there at 8:30 A:M. We will then proceed to convoy to the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center and gas up at the nearest gas station. At the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center we will pick a route and place to eat lunch before we start our road trip. This trip will take most of the day so plan accordingly. I have provided the link below for your viewing pleasure. One more thing please sign up at the Forum Calendar. Thanks

Sounds good!

I'll probably run up that way on 64 toward the Ocoee then onto 30-315. I'll catch up with the caravan in Tellico or the visitor center.

Hey Everybody......For Anyone interested in doing back to back weekend events this month.

I Just wanted to Invite you guys to "Dyno Day" at Cincy Speed which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday JULY the 17th. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Knoxville and is right off I-75 (Very Easy Drive).

You'll get 2 Dyno Pulls for $50 and that is a great deal considering how much dyno time costs these days.

Also SEVERAL Cincy Speed Prepped 2010 Camaros will be on hand for people to view, listen too, etc........This is great for those of you who are considering any kind of mods....engine, suspension, etc !!!!!!

It Should be a really fun day and I think food and drink will be provided.

You will also be able to meet the guys at Cincy Speed, view the facility and speak with them about the best mods to fit your individual needs.

Those interested let me know as my wife and I will be Taking "Sinister" as a display car for people who are considering a camshaft and headers.

"Sinister" will also be hitting the dyno. The other day the seat of my pants told me her horsepower has climbed a little since her motor has gotten a few more miles.

My son and I went to the Dragon on Friday, Had a blast, he rode his Motorcycle and I was in our Camaro... I leared alot about how to effectively use the Tapshift feature in the twisties.. stayed mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear, because of the Troopers patrolling there wasn't much opportunity to really hit the corners hard...

Since I have ordered these photos, and I have been told by Killboy.com as long as I mention where they came from I could post them on a forum, I will post a few of the pics here now...

I am going to try to go. I will sign up when I know for sure. I think it will be a great trip. I went to the Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY. a couple of weeks ago. It was camaro - firebirds weekend. There were about 5 gen5 camaros there. Had a great time. There is a power cruise on July 24th. Check it out. www.somernitescruise.com.

I'm not sure about the ETA at the visitor's center. According to Google maps, the drive time from Lenoir City is about 2 hours 20 minutes. Someone may want to validate this timeframe because I am not familiar with the area.

What a great day. East Tennessee Gen5 Carmaro members drove the Cherohala Skyway. This was the club's first road trip. The Cherohala Skyway is fast becoming one of the most traveled roads loved by bikers and motor enthusiasts.

Received word at the visitor's center that the dragon had a lot of traffic. So we stuck with the Cherohala Skyway. Still, little traffic and spectacular views.

Hope you can make the next one. There is talk of a run near Chattanooga.

Great get together, Weather was fine, all in all a perfect day for it.

Also, good to meet you ,Breeze, Thanks for taking the lead spot for the group.

I talked with some bike friends last night that did the Gap yesterday. Apparently it was really congested, so good call to avoid. Guy told me he almost crashed avoiding a collision. A Bear ran across the road in front of him.
304HP, you might not want to tell that to your daughter!

I'll go to work on putting together a Chattanooga area run.

i hope everyone behaved themselves.. a few years ago we went with the Sky/Solstice group up there and to tell the truth alot of those guys and gals scared the crap out of us with the way they drove... plus many had been partying the night before and were still buzzed.. Since we don't drink or party, needless to say we never went back with them...
