Dedicated pistol safes can be had relatively inexpensively, especially considering the peace of mind they provide...

Thankx for the assistance, I'll start looking at websites. They frequently have gun shows at the fair grounds. At least I can put my hands on one and see how good the grip is, etc. I'm not a small girl.. 6'1" and can hold my own, just want something smaller than the Beretta 9mm. I don't feel confident using it.. Thanx again. Lori
Glad to be of any assistance

Good for that stranger!

You are a fine man helping out a stranger that way, when most would have turned their backs and tried to make a buck!!

I'd love a 29 to go along with the boy's 27! His is nickel with a 8 3/8" barrel. I've owned a 629 Classic with an 8 3/8" barrel.

Trouble is, no gun shop, and I mean no gun shop, in my area has a 4" in any make!! It's driving me crazy!

I hate dealing with FFL to FFL transfer, and out of state transactions. Otherwise, I would probably look into it.

Ease of carry, and to be honest, look. I will probably carry it a bit off duty, and that extra inch just isn't needed, lol. Besides, if I go 5, why not go 6? lol

Or better still have it in a gun safe. Glocks are great guns very reliable and they make a variety of sizes using almost any round you can think of.
Glocks have 3 safeties, explained here better than I can:
http://www.glockmeister.com/safeties.shtml

I've carried a glock for years. There is a reason for the saying "Colts and Kimbers you show to your friends. Glocks you show to your enemies"

g22 on duty, g23 for the camaro, g27 for generally wandering around or a backup. G20 lives in the safe 99% of the time. AR15 for home defense. M1A for reaching out and touching someone. Wife has her own g19 and g26 and CCW permit. Reloaders (yes plural) are set up in the basement. I'm just waiting on the zombies to come. Afterall, they aren't going to kill themselves...

Because of my job and paranoia, there is always a loaded gun or two or three somewhere in the house. Before someone starts screaming about unsafe that is, all the children in the house have been educated and taken shooting. Even if they were setting in plain sight on the kitchen table (never happens) they would ask if they could hold it even if no one were in the room.

Also, 1" barrel difference isn't giving/gaining much up in the way of velocity unless you have a recipe for a pet handload that works for that particular configuration.

Here are some pics. I restippled the glocks. The G23 also got a grip reduction (did that myself) after these pics were taken. The G22 was an RTF2 that I removed the grooves. It doesn't look like that anymore, I redid the stippling again so it looks like tree bark and is very very grippy.

Someone will want to know: The AR15 is an LMT MRP with 16" CL barrel in rifle length chassis. SOPMOD stock, Aimpoint M4, Troy flip ups. Geiselle SSA trigger, Magpul AFG,0 MIAD, and trigger guard Gear Sector handstop, Phase 5 EBRv2, Surefire G2 in Gearsector mount with surefire sr07 switch.

Love the LMT, that one piece rail is a killer idea for optics. Plus, LMT is just plain quality!!

I want to do some trimming under the trigger guard of my G23, and duty G22. With my grip, about 50rds in, I get a blister on my middle finger. You do any to yours blake, and do you have that issue?

BTW, I thought the triangle checkering on the RFT was pretty aggressive from the factory, lol!! Only thing Glock needs to change is including the extended slide lock with all Glocks, fully support the chamber in the .40s and change the rifling so that lead can be shot. Of course, all that can be changed aftermarket for next to nothing anyway, lol.

Thats sound logic, just my (hypothetical)S&W model 29 is(hypotheticaly) a 5 inch barrel (hypotheticaly I love how it fires at the range) and when I recieve my CHWP I would take it EVERYWHERE! Despite the weight, hypotheticaly it is a heavy sucker though.
