Exclamation Best set up to Increase Boost?

I'm trying to find best setup to increase my boost to about 9-11 PSI for my turbo LS3 SS. The route i wanted to go was just to buy pistons and rods an install them. But some is saying to buy just a bottom end block. And others saying buy a whole block. But whats the best route to go? I don't plan on goin over 900hp to the wheels. SO please people help with what brand of pistons and rods and what ever else I need, i'm still a newb at all this. Also include company and price. I did do a search but most sites didn't show anything out yet. Just showed things for LS7, Ls1 and Ls2 motors.

You will run up against the limit of the block and head sealing capability before the rotating assembly, north of 900 RWHP

Even though they are not a "Must" I would consider 6-bolt heads to avoid any potential lifting issues. A big HP "Boost" cam would be a nice addition to any 408-427ci short-block. I would use the same cam we have in the single-turbo Z06 right now

That FMIC core won't be close to sufficient at "Big" boost and/or those power levels. You will need to notch or remove the front bumper support to fit a 5"+ core if you want to keep it air-to-air or piggy-back a 4" core with a meth kit. Just something to keep in mind...

I don't remember how large your injectors are but keep an eye on your duty cycle. Your single-pump / BAP set-up will need upgraded for sure (Minimally dual-pump set-up).

We are putting a build like this together right now in a 2010 SS so I will start a separate thread so you can see some of the necessary upgrades you will need to do/consider beyond the "Base" TT kit.

Since your in Virginia - talked to Virginia speed. They build nasty LS motors. I just finished tuning a twin turbo LS3 based 416ci today. They built me the shortblock(and a tons more) and this thing took alot of power without a hiccup.

Just throwing pistons/rods into it is the start. You need a machinist that knows these motors to hone them right, then you should be pinning the main caps.Alot goes into a strong shortblock.

I wouldn't recommend the gm ones.Blew a rod right out the bottom when we tried to push one with low boost.

Do you think the connecting rods are the weak spot on those motors or did something else give up before the rod exited?

I was going to buy a duel pump setup but i'm waiting on a Tri fuel pump. Should be out before xmas. And I have 50lbs injectors so those will be upgraded too. I just want a motor with the same specs as my Ls3 but able to hold 12psi of boost or 800-900rwhp.
