Should be an easy increase; install different intake, adjust the tune,
and there you have it!
Chevy has done a marvelous job in marketing the Camaro, keeping the interest up, ie;
Color changes, special editions, convertible, now this!
Now to mention.....a Z28!

Again, adding 5-10 HP to the rating on the paper isn't going to gain a thing....or 20.... (fairly confident it's already there )

So let's see where this "new power" comes from...and Obviously the vette will also have to grow, as it will remain the #1 powerhouse in the Chevy lineup.

Not sure, but whatever change should be something that 10's, 11's should be able to do pretty easily.

Freer flowing intake, headers instead of cast iron manifolds, and a new tune would bring the numbers up pretty good.

I'm with Camaro Scotty on this one...

I'll bet you see a "bump" somewhere around 10hp...but like Scott is saying, I think it's HP that's already there.

Don't expect anything radical, or more than .1 or .2 in performance gain.

Weeeeeeeeee....I love more HP. I'm one of these dudes that saw the HP race in 1964 through 1970, well here we go again. We need to love the higher HP now and buy the cars that we can afford. The Insurance folks and the Goverment will end it in an effort for safety and Green Day.

Here's the thing. Normally when GM does a bump in HP on their Smallblocks they normally go up by at least 20HP.

The thing is that the C7 is coming out in about 2 years with the new GenV V8s... supposedly a 5.5L Direct Injected Small Block with about 450 base HP. It will be lighter and more efficient so GM can tout that more over a simple HP increase seeing as it will have more power, be more efficient, and weigh less than the 6.2L. That means tread lightly, because this new engine will possibly have a DOHC variant that will go to Caddy.

But for now... a simple HP bump in the LS3 is easy. A tune alone can yield 450HP. Doing it efficiently is the key ALWAYS. My Vette LS3 was dynoed at essentially 418RWHP(about 480 at the Fly) with a tune and CAI... thats it

I agree with everyone that said that it most likely be a new intake and cpu calibration, they're probably just going to go a little easy on the torque management and a little more aggressive with ignition timing

Its easy power coming outta a GM Smallblock. The engine is a masterpiece of power, tune-ability and efficiency.

Bump HP by 20-30hp
Decrease weight (some how) by about 100 lbs.
Those two changes would definately show up going down the 1/4 mile.

(A good .3 tenths or so in the 1/4 mile).

Also, the L99 needs a better factory tune. That all by itself would bump HP/TQ and make the car a lot more fun (less Torque management please). My L99 ran 12.9 @ 108/109 with just a good tune.

If they change the tune to grap a couple more ponies, wonder if we can upgrade to the more powerful tune and still have a warranty.

The 426 HP is plenty for me, but I am glad to see that they are looking to add even more to the 2012 model to maintain their lead on the Mustang.
