SUSPENSION QUESTIONS ?

Looking to Lower the SS and do sway bars soon.
I have already decided to go with pfadt or pedders for drop springs, I have heard that less expensive brands will sag over time.

I have looked at sway bars from every price range.

does anyone have any experience with BMR products or LSR ? or have any suggestions for sway bars ? I am on a tight budget as always but I want quality affordable stuff

I don't have any experience with BMR or LSR products but since you're considering Pfadt lowering springs, have you seen this?

That is a AMAZING price. Regular price for the springs $330 plus $490 for the sways. I think the package usually sells for around $775. That's a $175 savings over the package price. For reference, this is only $90 more than the Eibach Pro plus package. If I already didn't have the complete package, my CC would be $600 heavier.

I went with pfadt springs and adjustable sway bars after much research. Love them, except I also paid about $800!

They are a very high quality bar, made with some of the best cnc bending equipment. Our quality control on or cnc bender utilizes lasers to check the bars. It is true that low quality springs will sag over time. People don't realize just how much effort goes into producing a quality set of springs. Once the extensive R&D process is over and we are satisfied with the results of our testing, the manufacturing process begins: Here are some interesting facts about BMR spring manufacturing:

1) BMR springs are manufactured from chrome silicon high-tensile spring wire. This is the best spring wire available for automotive applications. Most NASCAR teams use this type of spring wire for their designs.

2) Every BMR spring is computer tested as the last step of the manufacturing process. Every spring...not just a sample from each batch. EVERY SPRING!! Each spring is loaded in the spring tester. The spring is compressed and the CNC Load Cell measures the force for a variety of spring lengths. The computer takes this data and compares it to the BMR quality specs. Bad springs (if any) are kicked out and the good ones are sent to BMR. Per our requirements, the test data for each and every spring is electronically sent to BMR.

3) BMR springs are cold wound on a CNC Coiling Machine. The CNC coiling head can adjust the spring diameter in real time to ensure that every spring is the same as the other springs. This guarantees that your right spring matches your left spring!!

4) Every BMR spring is compressed solid at the factory. Not once, but twice. This gives the spring its permanent set...and guarantees NO SAG. This allows BMR to offer a lifetime warranty against spring sag.

5) BMR springs are stress-relieved at 750 degrees F. This ensures that most stresses induced during the winding process are eliminated. This process is necessary to achieve the repeatable high-quality product that BMR offers!!

6) All springs are shot-peened to eliminate residual surface stresses. Many spring manufacturers skip this step. BMR insists on this operation as part of our spring manufacturing process.


A few more notes:

1) BMR springs are Proudly Made in the USA!!! Costs are minimized and quality is maintained using CNC manufacturing equipment. Shipping costs are low. No boats. No planes. No custom fees passed on to the customer. Just good old American manufacturing ingenuity!!

2) BMR springs are manufactured by a spring company that has been making springs for over 140 years. Think about it...when GM was founded in 1908, this spring company had already been making springs for 40 years.

3) BMR springs are manufactured by a family-owned spring company. The same family has owned this company for 140+ years (6 generations). No corporate bail-outs. No passing the buck. When your name has been on the door for 140 years, you make sure that you own the best spring manufacturing equipment available.

I highly recommend the BMR 1" drop springs, trailing arms, toe arms and the rear poly cradle inserts. I personally would never install the solid aluminum rear cradle mounts on a mostly street driven car unless you have a very high tolerance for noise and vibration. Also highly recommend the MTI sway bars ( rear adjustable ) and shifter.

Not the same car and 11 years ago but my Hotchkis springs on my 98 z28 had 50000 miles on them, the fronts no sag, the rears down 3/8" or less.

That is a good price for the Pfadt, but on Amazon the Eibachs are $490 together (springs/sways) with free 2-day or cheap overnight shipping if you have prime, plus a $30 rebate.

~$460 for springs and sways with quick ship!

I have the Pfadt Sport Suspension package on my SS and I can't say enough about it. I love the ride, it's better than stock.
It's lowered perfectly and hugs the corners like never before. I love driving my car with the increased handling.
You cant go wrong with Pfadt!

If you're wanting the cheapest kit available, you might have found it. If you want one of the BEST setups for your Camaro for $140 more, this Pfadt sale is currently second to none.

Unless i'm mistaken, they were on the coilovers, not the sport drop springs.

Do you know something the rest of us don't? You posted in the GM licensing thread, so I know you've seen the SSX threads. It's apparent you're siding with Pedders which is fine. They are a great company as well. If you want a debate, go to your local Dealership and make a order for your favorite Pedders part. I will almost gaurantee you they won't know what you're talking about. I know this because I inquired at a good friends dealership. As of a couple weeks ago, there was absolutely nothing. Unlike yourself, I find both companies to be excellent and have recommended both. They have slightly different philosophies but both are top notch companies that produce top notch products.

Axis like I said I'm not looking for a debate just an answer. I have discredited gm dealers along time ago because of issues I had with them as far as siding with pedders I'm not if you go to the pedders web site it shows there sway bars and. Xa coilovers with a gm license on them and they will not void factory warrent I do not see this from pfdat. If you can show me this onm there products then that's awsome there is 2 products to choose from. The simple fact that there is a post in the forum about pfdat workin with the ssx is not proof enough that pfdat is a licensed gmpp parts. If anyone can show me there product with a gm license on it then ill believe. And if it is when I make my choice to purchase these parts it will be based on the better product and the fact I can bring it back to the dealer and they won't give me a problem when I bring my car in to the dealer with pfdat or pedders product

Hey guys, thanks for all of the support and people posting up with their experiences and suggestions of our products.

If there is any info we can provide to people to help please let us know. As some have mentioned, yes the Stage 2 package is on sale currently to celebrate all of the GMPP offerings and announcements this week. If you want the best, go with what GM chooses and go with Pfadt.

GMPP is licensing a FULL comprehensive set of suspension components for the Camaro, from Pfadt Race Engineering, not just a set of coilovers. This announcement was literally made this week. Please be patient as we roll the GMPP licensing into the marketing of our products.

That's fair. I will say that Pedders announced their new affiliation with GM several months ago. You are just now seeing their parts show up with GM tags. They still haven't shown up for purchase in local GM dealerships though. What about people that bought XA's in the past? Will they be covered as well or just ones with "official" GM sticker? Pfadt just announced theirs in the last week or so. It stands to reason that it will take a little bit of time. I guess time will tell.
