Pictures and info in a little while, but, Brandi is in the Hospital and we did our baseline dyno pull... I was pretty impressed... 387 HP, 388 Tq. I videotaped the run and will post it up when I get home.

Thanks for the compliments...
Those are some really high tech LEDs. I got them at autozone... It's about 15 or 20 dollars for a dual strip about 12 inches long. They are actually inside a aluminum shield/reflector under the cutouts. I still have to insulation under there as well. I have never had any problem with the heat affecting them... They stick on with peel off tape that comes on the strips.

Thanks for stopping in, I'll have my baseline dyno video uploaded soon...

Here is the baseline dyno run on Brandi Corey did this afternoon.

I took Brandi to the shop, and we discussed some things and then decided to get this run in...

I'm pretty stoked about the numbers.

All I have performance wise is a Roto-Fab CAI, which I have to credit for some of this... Nice piece of equipment... I'm glad someone else will get to enjoy it...

I also want to give a shout-out to Chase, at Apex Motorsports...

He steered me in the right direction on some suspension components, was very patient with my lack of knowledge, and accomodating to my desires for being able to hook up at the same time keeping the car away from sounding like a railcar and feeling about the same...

I ended up with a set of adjustable toe rods, delrin differential bushings, trailing arms, and solid rear sub-frame bushings... This thing ought to hook with some good drag radials...

I feel like he gave me some great options and I appreciate it immensly...

Thanks Chase...

Awesome build thread Robert... I started one in a word doc a year ago... as you can see I havent posted yet.... I keep saying after the next mod I will rewrite and post it up.

soooo... a blower... a blown motor... a 427 lsx... fuel... suspension.. axels.. and still no thread... MAYBE after meth injection, pulley swap and bigger wastegate will force to publish. OR as soon as I make a decent 1/4 mile run.

speaking of axels... not sure if you made a decision yet. I am happy with the Hendrix 1400hp and cost.

GOOD LUCK SON... cannot wait to see you when you get back and bring the twins home... wrapped in a pink blanket.

I did make a decision, and ordered the DSS axles. They are level 5, rated for 1400 HP... We ordered an ACT clucth, twin disc, rated for 1400 Ft/LBs... with the suspension parts solidfying the rear end, it ought to plant pretty well... I do need some good tires though...

I'll have to get at least two by the time my car is ready to go, and I'm hoping to get some new wheels soon... We'll see, but yeah, if we can find a deal, I'm up for it...

I've been wanting for a long time to do some mods in the performance category, but I waited until the time was right for us, My wife, me and Brandi.

The areas of question were in the Huffer vs the Turbo, and then Kyle Gilmour threw a wrench in my works by tossing the centrifugal supercharger in the mix. I read all I could find, and asked lots of questions. I love the look of a polished Maggie sitting on top of the motor. but... I saw a Camaro and a Mustang with Kenne Bell's, mehhhh, nice but didn't work for me... I had this vision of a turbo, but didn't want this monstrosity sitting under the hood with a plumbers nightmare of tubing.... so, whatthe heck... Ok, lets do this backwards...find a builder, and get some serious recommendations.

I talked to everyone in the area, other than builders. I told all who would listen I would pretty much go anywhere for the right builder. One name kept popping up, but no, it's not a big name shop... I've never heard of him... and then my brother starts talking about a neighbor of his. This guy has a Vette that is crazy bad. My brother calls him Corvette Charlie... Every time Chevy came out with a factory Vette with more HP, CC had to run back to this shop and demand more power... He finally got the the point that shop owner said no..."I will not build more power until you let me get into the block and build it to sustain the power..."

That spoke huge volumes to me... A shop that could easily make money and sit back on the "I told you so" excuse, but no, he would not take money even though CC wanted to spend it...

Why, as it was told to me is I do not build trailer queens, and I do not want your car or any others I build trailered in due to poor build effort.

I think I had found a place I wanted to deal with... and the bonus was that this was to be his first 2010 Camaro "big" build, and he is excited about it..

Corey has been building Corvettes for years and is considered a top notch LS motor guy by the people that know him...

I walked in for the first time to actually meet Corey, and we hit if off right away. We talked about my desires and he talked about reality... yeah I had the big eyes... by this time, I had pretty much decided I wanted a twin turbo kit, and I had more or less made up in my mind which kit I wanted... He wasn't too keen on the idea at first, as he hadn't seen much he was impressed with thus far... I told him of the two kits I had narrowed it down to and let him decide if either of them were worthwhile looking.

Like me, he was blown away by the TTI/Granatelli Twins kit. He looked at the other kit as well, but kept going back to TTI/G.

This is where it got interesting, he started going off on ideas... the ultimate sleeper, custom this, custom that, down the road, etc... I think for a little while, he was more excited than I was...Not...

We spent the next month and a half planning and discussing this build. At first, we were going to sleeve my LS-3 and then it was decided to go with an LS-2 427, and now it's still in the air. I met with him yesterday, and set up a drop off appointment. He is ordering the parts, and the availability of the machine shop will determine the final block configuration.

So... we are building a complete short block, all forged rotating internals, crank, rods, and pistons. He has selected a Cam, valves, lifters etc.... There are quite a few pages of parts. The heads will be completely worked, with new valves, springs etc, the block will be studded. The fuel system will be completely redone with a dual fuel pump system, and there is a 3" inch exhaust system from the Turbo's out the back.

I am ordering the axles and he will order the clutch... All of this is in preparation for the install and boost cranking of the TTI/Granatelli Twin Turbo Kit.

We are going to order thekit with 10 lb waste gate springs, since we can as much as double the boost with an e-controller. Rather than limiting ourselves with a 7 lb spring set up to 14 lbs max boost, we will start with 10 lb springs and be able to double it to 20 if things ever progress to that point...

Corey is figuring we can go to around 13 or 14 lbs of boost before we start running out of fuel.... Time will tell...

Out initial goal is for about 750 to 800 at the wheels, but those are just numbers,,, the proof is in the pudding and in the trap times and speeds...

Corey did describe to me 800 RWHP in this car is going to be really wild... He said, it will eithe go like hell, or go into the ditch at a hundred miles an hour, backwards... like, instantly... hmmm,

Any driving instructors out there for hire.... I may need a little help...

The Shop, is Henderson Performance in New Braunfels Texas.
The blockis being prepped and built by ERL,
The Twins are from TTI Granatelli
Exhaust from Magna Flow,
Axles still up in the air...
Clutch, up in the air...

More to follow...

Thanks Again to all who have stopped in....
Very nice Robert. I look forward to seeing he finished product! Good luck on your build sir.

What an awesome thread this is turning out to be.

You know...I enjoy reading builds, but the "stuff in between" is really rather entertaining...lol Pink Pig...and the rest is history...

Man, you have some great stories and I truly love hearing them.

Everyone out there...

This person right here, Robert, is one of those that you just need to know. He IS good people (my friend laughs at me when I say that...what is good PEOPLE...good persON, etc...lol..anyway). You are a great person, Robert and I can't wait to see what this build holds for you. So far, it should like Brandi is going to be a TOTAL beast! I can't wait to hear that WOOSH!!!!!!!!

But let's not forget about those brakes, man! We need to keep you around! Corey knew what he was talking about when he said something about that ditch. Stopping power...just smoething to think about .

It was a pleasure helping you with one of your mods, and thank the misses again for dinner(you don't mention her name in your threads so I won't). Satch of course is always a character, great personality and BIG heart. He gets it from his owners. If you have not met Robert and his wife, they are two of the most considerate, kind, passionate and generous people you would ever meet. I met Robert at a car show awhile ago and he invited me to his house that day after only 2 hours of conversation. Anyway this is about his BUILD thread but I wanted everyone to know a little about Robert and his family. KEEP THE UPDATES COMING!!!
See, folks...exactly!

I've been talking to a vendor about some suspension parts to tighten up the Brandi's buttocks so this power will not be wasted in spinning tires and making smoke, though she loves to make smoke when the oppurtunity arises.... When a deal is struck, I'll post up the information. I want Brandi to have solid footing, but at the same time, I don't want to transmit the noise of every bug laying on the road, or every pebble I run over....

Pink Pig is going along with Brandi while she is in the hospital. Ohhhhh the trauma... :(

The engine cover and the Roto-Fab radiator cover will come off in the morning. Those pieces will recieve a face lift and be ready for when Brandi arrives back home; after I finish Dougs stuff...and Kyles stuff...

As for the Roto-Fab itself, it's been sold more or less in a pay it forward deal to a good friend in the North East... He is going to install it in his dads car... He is going to pay enough to cover a pint of paint cost for some of the other covers and things I am working on for other people. I wont mention his name right now since I'm not sure he has told his dad he is getting a Roto-Fab Intake... but I know his dad will be happy with it, I sure have been... The TTI/Granatelli comes with it's own air intake system... My new intake system will blow rather than suck...

Pay it Forward...

Yes I know it's quite dirty under the hood right now, we had lots of rain the other day but I wanted to get to San Antonio and deliver Dougs Roto-Fab housing and install that and his Radiator cover... Mission Accomplished...but it's been way to cold for this South Texas boy to get out and wash her... Maybe on the way to the hospital I'll drive through a touchless car wash... I know, sacreligious, but hey...

THANK YOU!!!! I can't wait to show it to everyone, btw. TOO cool.... You know, something like that just needs to be shared. It would look great on my wall. But, to share it with others....

, I'm in Brazil, back to work. Gotta pay for the mods...Corey, my builder and his office manager promised me pics, so, as I get them I'll post them up....

The fuel components, the short block, the turbo kit, the heads, the axles and the suspension components have been ordered and should be in the shop fairly soon. It'll probably be two weeks before the short block is ready, but in the meantime, the fuel system will be installed and while they have the rear subframe out, they will install the suspension components...axles etc......

More to follow...

Thanks for stopping in and check back periodically for updates...

Chase is awesome! I cant wait to see the final build when its all done. I think im going to need a road trip to TX lol
