I'm sure most of us are hoping it's a version of the Camaro, but the quote doesn't necessarily mean just that.

I've heard rumors that there will be a sporty RWD Buick. I'd say that is as likely as the Z28, particularly when they said that its based on the Camaro platform (ie, Zeta) and not simply another Camaro model.

The Buick will most likely be on Alpha.

Concpet cars don't have to be on the production platform. The Camaro concept was on a hacked up Sigma platform IIRC

It also wouldn't be due until the second half of this decade after the Alpha Camaro.

I think if it wasn't some type of Camaro they wouldn't have worded it as being on the "Camaro platform."

Why not between ATS and 6th Gen Camaro?

I'm going to try and make it to the show. My sales guy has tickets and is going, but couldn't get anymore. Either way I can't wait for the announcement.

Hey just wanted to let you know that you can buy tickets at the door. That's what I did last year when me and a bunch of "the guys" went. They are going again this year but i have to work so I can get my own Camaro!

This is a picture of my ticket from last year, just because!

There already is a RWD Buick on the Zeta platform.

The story is not very clear. Title says "Camaro-based" which means it's a version of the Camaro. Writeup says "based on the Camaro platform". Which could mean anything, including a car that's NOT a Camaro. Either bad writing, or typical teaser GM "fugg with your head" double-speak to confuse the issue and keep you interested.

Tossing in there that 1 of the 6 ads for the Superbowl will feature the Camaro means that they'll have a Camaro ad on the Superbowl. Ok. Means what it says, nothing more. Since they said they're unveiling it in Chicago, you WON'T see any inkling of that ad to the "new" vehicle.

If it is Camaro-based as the title says, I'm going to put my money on red...a 45th anny edition. That's my guess if it's another Camaro version. If not a new Camaro, then I really don't care.

DING DING DING, we have a winner......I think you are right, I was going to post the same thing.

I remember them saying that when they were closing down pontiac, that NO cars would be brought to the chevy line.....then a few weeks later they said that the G8 would be brought over as something else.....

This should pretty much put all these wild theories to rest. You guys are reading way too much into the "Camaro platform" comment. It'll be a Camaro model, and it'll be a bad mofo

I work for GM.

I merely chuckle at the certainty of rumors built on rumors based on what ifs that may or may not be interpretted as fact. One day, some may become truth and some may not, and others may be a shadow of what was once speculation.

However, that being said, the excitement around wanting to know what's coming by everyone here (maybe mostly Fenwick) fuels my passion every single day. That is largely why I'm here. Camaro5 is just so full of that passion and excitement. There may not be site on the internet that burns with that fire for GM products.

GM is working on some very cool stuff right now. Exciting times are nerely here. That bankruptcy thing got in the way of a few things.
