I think you are 100% correct. I think there will definitely be a Z28 in our future but my guess is it won't be here until the new Alpha platform in 2 years. I am not going to wait that long. I will enjoy my ZL1 until then.

Yup..the Berlinetta. We called them "Chicks Camaros". They had a floral decal on the 'C' pillar and embroidered flowers on the seats. I'm not sure if their were Berlinetta specific colors, but I can still see those powder blue ones in my minds eye.

How about digging deeeeeeeeep into the name bin and bringing out "Panther"? Available in black, white and orangeish tan?

If fbodfather reads this, I want credit for it. A new Camaro like what Chevy gave Kid Rock will do. An all black "Panther" please!

Edit: For the ladies, I almost forgot a Pink Panther.

I really hope this isn't true....IMO it really cheapens all of the special editions when there are 8 million of them like there are with Mustangs.

That would be incredible. I LOVED that concept...much better than suede...

Wink

Maybe if GM is reading this.....I vote for a Skybird equivalent....who needs synergy green or a Z28.....lets go for a special edition appearance package in good ole Baby Blue...

I actually knew someone who had one of these.....1978 Firebird Skybird

Great, one less thing to use against the Mustang crowd.

In reading further...I found this...history does repeat itself!!!

With no reason to mess with success, the 1978 Firebird and Trans Am basically carried over from the '77 except that there were a lot more "special editions" like a gold Trans Am with brown accents and blue "Sky Bird" and red "Red Bird" Firebirds. America snatched up 93,341 Trans Ams and 93,944 other Firebirds for an astounding total of 187,285 - the best sales year ever.

The Sky bird package contained many unique featurs such as:
- Two-tone blue finish, medium blue upper - dark blue lower
- Blue trimmed snowflake wheels
- Medium blue grille liners
- Blue-accendted taillights bezels
- Sky Bird sail panel decals
- Bodyside tape stripes, in graduating tones of blue
- Blue Custom interior
- Blue Formula steering wheels
- Blue Custom seat belts

Considering the topic of this thread....Its just uncanny! Sorry about the skyblue print but i couldnt help my self.

Dark times await for GM if they don't fix the clunky feeling of the Camaro, and I'm an SS owner at that. All I know is 1 year+ at 36k and it still feels clunky to me. Sigh. If I could get Honda S2000 crispness handling wise with the power of the Camaro, I'd be in love.

You must be very new to muscle cars if you expected S2000 handling....

Actually like the GM idea, maybe iconic ones will be produced w/ joint ventures, such as the COPO, and Baldwin Motion....:..sign me up for a COPO, hunter green edition, please..

..just think, history to repeat itself in just one decade?..awesome, that I may be around to see 'em..

I don't like the idea IMO.. what they have now plus tbe ZL1 and Z28 would be perfect.

Limited? Only if they don't sale well. The original synergy edition is proof positive of that. (can you tell I'm still carrying a grudge)....

I agree. It would be nice if the handling was upgraded. If they even "came close" to the S2000 handling, it would be a truly incredlible car.

Am i the only one who thought the IROC line looked ok? I know the power plant sucked...but it wasn't as bad as the Berlinetta...

...I hope they aren't just trying to keep the Camaro the hot "new" thing by releasing a Limited/Special edition every 6 months. The GM Heritage Grille, 20''+ Rims, don't make it Special nor Limited. They need to take a bit further....

Upgrade the FUNCTIONALITY; not just change the look.

It needs interior improvements. Some weight reduction. Strengthen the drivetrain. Better bushings (they can learn from Pedders how to do this without sacrificing ride quality).

Make the next version a better CAMARO; not just a cosmetic change. This has always been the downfall of Detroit automakers; they start with a great car, then slowly hokey/crap it up with "special editions" etc. until it's a sad mess of what used to be a great car. Just like software companies, they add "features" no one asked for, and ignore fixing the things that their existing customers have been complaining about. The software slowly gets bigger, clumsier, slower... until it's just disappointing at best.

DON'T DO IT CHEVY! You started something fantastic with this Camaro; STAY THE COURSE. Learn from Apple's approach. Study the forums; listen to all the feedback from the people who bought the car and make the next one so good that they'll buy it again. There's a reason why Apple is debt-free, has $60 billion in the bank, and is the #1 tech company in the world. Follow their lead and make the next Camaro the evolutionary improvement of this first fantastic car.
Well put.

Out of this thread I'm interested with this:

"Also, the limited edition Camaro Synergy model will return this spring. The model is aimed at V-6 buyers who want performance equipment at a lower price."

Maybe I missed it being explained somewhere else on the forum but I'm curious to know what this will all entail being a future v6 shopper. Nonetheless, it will be interesting within the 1-2 years when I start looking at my options for my future dream car, that's for sure.

If they were referring to the XM edition, no performance equipment at all. Its just a stripe, 21" rims, floor mats, heritage grille, and some bits only available with 2LT and/or RS. Although the original PDF brochure did say something about an added CAI.
As far as lower price, well its gonna cost $30K.
