Installed it today!! If you have big hands like me it is a bit of a challenge in the tight area getting the harness clip unplugged off the tranny. Very easy to snap back together.

Works great!! Thanks APEX!

Most definitely.

I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but your skip-shift eliminator was literally the first mod I did to my car. I can't say enough about how simple it was to install, and how much happier it makes me not being forced into a 1-4 shift.

If it didn't come out that well in my previous posts, I'll say it again, just for the record, that I am MUCH happier paying the small amount for my skip-shift eliminator, than having to pay the gas guzzler tax. So, whether GM intentionally made it that easy to bypass or not, I am happy that GM put in the skip-shift feature, rather than making us pay the tax. Just as long as they don't make it any harder to defeat the skip-shift, I think we're all good to go.

As others have told me.. The computer will still display the prompt that you need to shift to forth but of course you will be able to go right into second with no issues.

Of course, APEX is 100% legit, so you'll be safe there.

Yeah, it still says it in the DIC, because the feature isn't removed from the computer, you've just removed power to the solenoid that physically locks it out.

Sometimes when I'm in one of those weird moods, and the 1-4 shift comes up on the screen, I flip my middle finger at the screen and say "Ha ha, Eff You!" to my car as I shift into second.

I love my car, but I'll be DAMNED if I let my CAR tell ME when I should shift and to what gear.

Tell me about it. I have the same problems trying to fit my large paws in there working on stuff. The skip-shift eliminator wasn't half as bad as the fun times I had installing my Hurst short-throw shifter, though. Boy, was THAT all sorts of fun.

Otherwise, we as the customers would have to pay, and it would drag down their average corporate fuel economy numbers.

Plus, with such an easy and cheap "fix", I don't see anything to complain about.
Don't blame the government??? Who do you think imposed the "Gas Guzzler Tax" on GM. The skip shift(CAGS) is GM's response to a stupid law.

Yes. You swap out your yaw sensor module, under your console, with GM Part# 13578326.

You're right and I didn't notice until I'd already replied. You'd think that the person who resurrected it would've found the thread about how to disable Hill Start Assist, when he searched and found this thread.

Hey Boys and Girls,

This is my first post to the forum, but I felt I should share my experience with the skip shift feature on my 2013 SS.

I work from home and my commute is about 100 feet from my bedroom to my den. Seventy percent of my car's use is on the track and I have to say that this feature is dangerous for anyone tracking their car, especially in an advanced group where there are no point-bys or at the very least, limited passing rules.

I have personally been in a position where the feature engaged coming out of pit road (which feeds you into a high speed entry into T1 at Homestead Motor Speedway Road Course) and was forced to throttle through to keep another car from running into me.

This feature should be eliminated and/or added as part of the competitive mode feature.

I will be placing my order for Apex's version today.

Just thought I would share my experience with this annoying, but not completely useless feature.

A video of the turn in question is posted as captured from the front splitter of my vehicle.

Nice to be part of the gang!

JCV (or just "JC")
