I went into the garage and found this on the rear quarter panel of an old '66 Chevy II

Is that what you're talking about?
Guess SS means Super Sport on there.
Does that mean the RS on the Camaro means Rally Sport?

this is very entertaining.
it is really amazing how many folks you can fish in by "seemingly" asking a silly question. ( not to offend folks that really didn't know)

i really appreciate all of the folks that gave a serious answer because you are the genuine article. bowtie thru and thru.

i also appreciate all the folks who kept it light and humorous!

I know what the real SS is.
i built my first chevy engine (i'm sure like a lot of you) before i was old enough to have a drivers license... i bleed bowties.

oh yea... Super Sexy and Really Sexy are my favs.

it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

It's not the only one in the series. The XLR and STS also have one.
It doesn't stand for anything. It's just Cadillac's performance division. What does GXP stand for on Pontiacs?

By the way, CTS Coupe and CTS Wagon don't make any sense whatsoever...Catera Touring Sedan Coupe...

Stop screwin' with the guy peoples!
It stands for "Super Sexy" and yes, it IS an option
And before anyone asks, RS stands for "Really Sexy", but only on Chevy vehicles.
