head/cam for whipple erl 427 shortblock build

Im looking at ERL PERFORMANCE superdeck I/6 bolt sleeved 427 short block. My question is what would be a good blower cam head combo. I love the way Lingenfelter GT9 cam and LIVERNOIS 2C blower cam sound in stock displacement. Im afraid these cams will be swallowed up in a 427 and I will lose that cam sound. Also what heads work well with a 4.125 bore? Thanks for your info Camaro5 guys

I think ERL would be best to advise on the Cam. You should go over your goal, and they will tel you what you need.

Will this be a N/A or F/I car? That will also change the Cam.

Mast makes nice heads for multiple bores if you have the cash.

If you're putting down the coin for a superdeck, for f(*ks sake get a custom cam ground.

I have an ERL 427, four bolt head, with the Lingenfelter GT9 Cam... I have a 121 degree LSA, and it's pretty quiet as far as the rump rump goes... but, at the same time, I have twin turbos. There is a CTS-V in the same shop as mine that has the same cam and cutouts and it sounds wicked...

I noticee the difference in the cam lope, but with my exhaust being so subtle, it's not going to terrorize anyone... and by the time they figure out everything I'm sporting, it's usually way too late...for them...

We have plenty of camshaft options that I think will help you get where your going. If you want to talk with guys that do a lot of camshafts feel free to give us a call. We sell the most Comp Cams LS camshafts in the country, so we have a pretty good amount of experience selecting cams for our customers applications.

Sounds good but from what I hear it doesn't lope as good as the gt9 cam videos in a 6.2l ls3. I want alittle more lope. I think the 427 displacement smoothes out the cam.

Cool, Mine didn't get lost either, it is just really quiet after coming through the turbo's.. If I installed cutouts it would sound wicked...

I'll see if I can get a video and post it up...

It isn't the cubes that smooth it, it's the LSA... Narrow the LSA and the rump rump comes in.... That isn't the best choice for a FI motor though... NA, go for a really narrow LSA and it'll shake and rump all you want...

Here is the video of my GT9 Lingenfelter cam in my LS-3 Stroker 427 with Twin Turbos... This cam has a 121 degree LSA...With the twin turbo's, this is on the stock manifolds. The turbo's bolt directly to the manifolds... The down pipes coming off the turbos are three inch as is the entire system from there...There is ZERO drone with this set-up....

Yours will sound even better with the long tubes... They say turbos are the best mufflers ever made, chopping the sounds waves up into a million lil pieces.... can't wait to hear yours...
