Well, Vince has said it does need time for his normal tune.

kmprenger you are right. For some reason I thought that our stock v6 dyno around 260hp. I dont know where I got that from. It must of been the heat boiling my thought process.
I didnt realize that my dyno numbers are actually really good until I started seeing past posts of other peoples stock and similar modded dynos.
Im not too worried about todays number anyway. After all todays dyno was just to setup a base number in prep for e85 tune. Im happy with my performance so far regardless of the number.

poorman, I have to empty out the 93 gas as much as I can and after that I have to at least go through a tank or two of e85 to effectively be converted.
I am just hoping the tune can compensate for the extra 30-40% e85 to give the same gasoline effect. Vince seem optimistic about it.

If this work than I am almost sure we can see 300whp - or + without going FI. I am just lucky to have plenty of e85 in my area.

Also, I have to take into consideration that the e85 will have to be tweaked out with datalogging in between unless vince is just that good and can get it on one shot.

Don't worry so much about what the actual number is. Your right in the range you should expect and the dyno is just a tool. Your looks to see how this new mod (E85 tune) will improve over what you have now. The true test will come at the track.

With the stock intake you could have been pulling timing as the sensor really heats up.

Im not too worried gretchen. My main goal for this dyno was to get a base number for e85. Even if I was to take yesterdays dyno number seriously I think I could have seen up to 280whp and maybe even more if the weather was cooler and if infact what my dyno guy said was true that his dyno read lower(2000hp 248x)but what surprise me the most is that these numbers are with my factory intake.

After everything is setup and completed I will hit the track and get some numbers.

its always a possibility but I am def not getting the full effect of my header due to my restricted factory intake. Theres def more power to be had. 300whp does not look too far away

Silly me...I assumed you had a CAI to match the flow on the bottom end...

and thats with 90 degree humid weather we had yesterday and almost all week. Today we are reaching 95. This hot weather is killing me.
Im sure 93 gas and running catless had alot to do with it too, and vince did say that adding long tube with his new tune can see bigger gains.

It would be fantastic if you were the first NA car to 300 RWHP, but I think you will still be a little shy even with the E85 and a CAI. However, PLEASE prove me wrong!

Good luck man, this is going to be very interesting.

Very interesting indeed! vince stated that his vette got 20hp just with a tune. He think our LLT will be very interesting with e85 due to simple fact that we have direct injection on our side and we naturally have high compression which is a big plus for e85.
E85 love boost and high compression. Mix those two into factor and peoples are seeing numbers and timing that you will never see with regular gasoline.
Even if I can see minimum of 20hp like on vince car than I am positive that I can hit 300whp with vararam.
Who knows, we might see even more. It all depends how far it will go before knocking but with the natural octane rating of 105+ and its cooling nature of e85 I am very optimistic

lol TJ.. This is one time that I wish my car got bad gas mileage but I dont mind taking it a little slow today because its like almost 100 degrees outside enough to make your head hurt. Im trying to stay in as much as I can today plus I am mostly at work all day so I really dont have a chance to drive out my gas anyway. I just checked my miles to go and it say 55 miles so by tomorrow I should be ready to put in first tank of e85 and load the tune.
Just hope that this go well because if it does than 300whp should be a piece of cake with our LLT assuming you have access to e85. Lucky for me I live and work around plenty of e85 station.

That is defenitely possible rod. Ronslo who's doing testing for VR is seeing 245-250 with manual stock and I think he was even seeing less than that while the car was newer if I can remember correctly. so I guess one cant really take these numbers too seriously. It make sense that dyno is only good to figure out what we made and what we lost on the same dyno, same situation, same car.

Plus vince said that others was seeing less than 260whp with the old tune and with the same level of mods as mine. Interesting.

so you did this dyno with the new tune with the 13hp increase?

as i stated, i had 270 with my mods with no tune. so if you put the injen on, you would probably see over 280whp. and who knows with the vararam. good luck!
