SLP Longtube Headers

I have the SLP Loudmouth II axle back exhaust and I love it. But I'm still looking for more sound out of my car. Especially sitting idle. Was thinking the SLP Longtube headers but from what I'm reading I will also need to get a tune. Is that right? What about ARH? I'm torn between them. My other question is if I get the longtube headers will I have an issue getting my car to pass inspection? I know the SLP site says for off road use only. But who actually does that right??? ; )

Not sure about your inspection laws... Some states its easy to get away with some states its not. I would look into that first. Generally as long as you run the high flow cats with long tubes you don't need a tune. However, you will be running rich and leaving some serious horsepower on the table. Also, you will most likely get a CEL somewhere down the road that can be deleted pretty easily. If you use off road pipes you will have a constant CEL until you get a tune. ARH headers are top notch, they are extremely high quality and make some of the best power gains around. Stainless Works is another top quality header you can look into. SLP headers are nice to but they use smaller primary tubes (1 3/4") compared to ARH or SW headers which (1 7/8" or 2") also SLP uses T409 stainless steel when ARH and SW use T304. All three options will make great power and all three will help your car sound and feel much tuffer through the entire RPM band

When you're at inspection what do they usually look for by you? Where I'm at its just called an emmisions test and they just plug into our OBD2 port to make sure the car is running without any CEL and give you a pass/fail based on that. It's pretty easy.
