so what do you think? Why wouldn't these two cars have the foam painted over at Oshawa?

It would be cool if someone from Customer Service could tell me if something like this was standard procedure.

Yea sorry, I was wrong. It looked like body filler to me, but it's actually a foam that comes with everyone's car. The only thing that I'm trying to figure out is why mine , and the one in the video I posted, weren't painted over. Maybe I got an extra layer or someone on the line forgot to, or didn't apply it correctly.

Is there a reason why you care about the foam being painted when it's never actually seen? I don't know you personally, and I am very particular about my car but you are taking it to a whole new level. Go get your keys and actually drive the car, STOP looking for things wrong with it and enjoy it. It's not a hand-built luxury car, it's a $30K car that's mass produced, it will NEVER be perfect.

Its not foam. Its a product called seam sealer and you can buy it at any local auto body supply store. Its usually painted over. You usually see this stuff in the seams of a pickup truck bed.
If anything, its closer to caulking.

I was under the impression that they deluge tested (water leak check) the cars before sending them out the door at the factory. It's possible they may have found it leaking back there, then it would be bayed and fixed AFTER the car was assembled. You'd be surprised at what they do to some Corvettes at the factory to get repairs done before they're put on a truck to leave the plant. I'm sure Camaros would be no different.

I'm saying this is a possible explanation, not a definite.

I'm sorry Raptor but I don't have any information or personal knowledge on how this would be handled. I'm sorry I can't be of more help in this situation.

True

Happen to me,I was suppose to get my GTI within three days after putting down the deposit. It was going on seven days and I was getting the run around where it was. Finally went to the dealership to talk to the owner and told him if I didn't see my car in 48 hours.I was taking one of the golf's from the showroom.
I didn't care I was looking for second car with better gas mileage.
He took me to his office and said the drivers front fender, got damaged while being loaded off the truck. So,they sent it to the body shop to get fixed.

He knocked off $2,500 from the price of the car.

But if I didn't start asking what the hell was going on,I would NOT have been the wiser.Cause I'm pretty sure they would not have told me.
