Touche salesman haha

I've spent my time learning v8's, don't know much about 6's except for the ones I've owned that just got regular maintenance.

I dont wanna put a whole lot of money Into my car I have 2250 Into the car and I dont wanna put any more then 2500 Into the car because where I live they sell for around two thousand any day so I cant get much money back that I put Into the car. I am looking for small easy mods to Improve performance and I dont really wanna pay over two hundred dollars for a cold air Intake either for the car. I have about two hundred dollars to work with and I am wondering If anyone here knows of any easy mods for this car. Or If ya have modded ya own 3.4L post pictures I would like to see the car. I guess I Just need confidence In my car because Im kinda mad Its only a 3.4L and doesnt have much power and practically any money I put Into the car I cant get back because they dont hold there value much where I live but the z28s hold there value quite well. Um post pictures of ya car or mods etc. Then.

get an Ls1..
Almost anyone on here will tell you an LS1>LT1 (except for maybe Spike..)

However if you want to just buy a Z28 and not mod it, go with an LT1.. they sound wonderful stock, much better than an LS1 IMO

I am a GM engine tech. The 3.4 L is not the same as a 3400!!! It was based upon the old 2.8-3.1 ltr engines found in the older J-bodies. It is no way similar to the newer 3100-3400 engines.

For a guy weened on backyard V8 knowledge, I don`t see your post as relivant in helping the Op in this case.

I hope you also realise the 350 in an LS1 is different than the 350 in a 1982 Chev pick up.

Huh? I was conceding the fact that I was wrong about the 3.4 being in the grand am, and that I didn't know much about the V6's.

I'm well aware of the differences in the V8 generations having built many myself.

I'm very happy for you being a GM engine tech, but I don't see your post as anything other than being a dick.

PS: The "Touche salesman" remark was not referring to you as a salesman. It's a quote from Family Guy, when Peter concedes the cloud insurance salesmans point.

Sorry for coming off sounding like a douche bag bro... I didn't realise the context of the quote from family guy. My appoligizes. I was trying to explain to the OP that the V6 engines of yester year are not the same as todays and that the engine he has was stopped due to the unreliability of it. Sorry for the mix up brother. My fault.

That's cool, not the first time a misunderstanding occurred in an internet forum haha

Some of these posts in here... Everything depends on how much you're willing to put into your car. There are no new mods that are worth it for the small amount that you are looking to put into the car. Honestly your best bet is LS1tech.com and find some cheap stuff in the classifieds that'll work on your car and be upgrades to what you have now, but only if your 3.4 is going to be the car you are definitely going to stick with. However you may be better off getting rid of that 3.4 for a LT1 or LS1 car so that you have a good fast car to start with. As far as things going wrong with your car, high mileage 93-02 FBodies are magnets for any problems not related to the engine, trans, suspension, and etc. It's true LT1's sound better, but I'd say muffler only, while LS1's sound better with full exhaust & headers set up. An LT1 is a classic 350c.i. displacement, though the LS1 is 346 c.i.

I will probably keep the car for a few years and save up my money for a z28 and I will save on Insurance not having a z28 at the moment. Could I find a site that shows like the different years of camaros there specs and engines etc. I could read up on those. Because I dont know much about the power or lt1 or ls1. Is there a website that could explain or give specs or Information about the different generations. Then.
