Question Camaro rear window tinting help

Hi all
i want to tint my camaro rear window. Is there somewhere a youtube movie for some instructions.
Because it is very narrow in the back where the glass goes down to the speakers. How can do a proper install of the foil is this narrow part?
Do i have to unmount a plastic part?
How have you done it?

thanks for any help

its like $200 to have it installed for the whole car, and thats a life time warranty for it too. If you doing it yourself hopefully your not using cheap crap that will purple and fade and bubble man. Id just have it done. I do all of my own mods, but tinting is something i would never do. I know that doesnt help, but i had to throw in my 2 cents

I paid $125 for mine. Shop did a great job. It was there 1st new Camaro back in 09". Had early appointment, and had there top installer. Will be much happier if you let a pro do it for you.

Got mine done here in Fla. for $150. You gotta Love the new technology, they cut it out to the exact window dimensions. And the Lifetime warranty is the best. Some lint got between my passenger side window tint and glass. Took it back and it was replaced, no questions asked!

The back window can be tinted from the outside believe it or not. which will make the install a lot easier. I had mine done this way when i got the car in april 2010 and ive had no problems with it.

Now I know why your doing it yourself. Don't know if I would tint from outside (weather) but you could cut a template from the outside to cut the film. Will need a long squegee (spelling ?) to get in the tight spots. Hardest part is getting out all the air bubbles. I'd practice a few times on another window to get technique right & use a good water based adhesive. No expert here. I know they started from bottom of window & worked bubbles out to the sides & top. Hope this helps.

Cut film on outside of back window but first spray window down with water and squeegee flat the film to get proper size now cut with a carpet knife double edge razor . Do all this without peeling film now with someone's help see if it's going to fit first because it might need to be trimmed ( check fitment on inside of car ) . After you have the right size peel film spray the shit out of the film and back window with water and have at it ! Remember glass is the same size on the outside as it is on the inside but because of the interior trim may be the reason you might have to trim down the film a bit . Good luck !!!

Looks great, only thing that would suck is if the airbag deployed and you had a mirror image of the 100 year logo imprinted in your forhead.

Looks nice. I'm just not sure I'd have put it so close to another bowtie emblem.

It would be right next to the big bowtie.
