Thumbs down Diff $450 What happened to the thread?

How can someone simply remove a for sale thread without and explanation or conscience??

Yesterday morning I was the first to PM a member who was selling a differential from a manual '11 Camaro, $450.00 shipped. Never received a response and now the thread is deleted. Hey I know it was a good deal, that is why I jumped on it. It's not right good luck to that member (who runs a speed business, who I will not mention).

My guess is he was not a paying vendor. This site is more about money than people think.

Sorry to say.

How could you tell you were the first to PM them? I understand why you're upset but there are a ton of factors that could explain it. I know you may not like to hear this either, but he would make more money if someone walked in the shop and said "I want it, I'll pay you to install it now." And your PM could have been sitting on his computer unopened.

Oh and it doesn't matter if he was a vendor or not, he posted in the Members section, I thought?

A mod or an admin has to delete threads. I would say something wasn't within the rule book of the forum.

Well then, what is the correct answer? Inquiring minds want to know. I want to know!

Sorry maybe you're too young to get it. It was a joke.

I responded within 15 minutes of his post, so that makes me at least very close to being the first. If he sold it in the shop, he could have at least stated that by return PM or in the thread. When I post a thread or am interested in one I "subcribe" that way I get an e-mail sent to my smart phone within minutes.

He did post in the members section. And just because you were the first to respond in his thread, doesn't mean you were the first to respond to him. If it was me, I wouldn't post PM sent in any thread that I was trying to purchase something out of. Because that would bump the thread and then everybody would see it at the top of the boards. Makes my chances of getting it less. Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. Also keep in mind that even though you were the first to say PM Sent, you posted that a whopping two and a half hours after he made the thread. I just about bet he received ten PM's before he even got to yours.

Vendors have the power to delete their own threads that they started. This guy was a vendor. Hence, he deleted the thread after the differential was sold. That is why the thread is now gone.

Nothing against the OP but I've had a lot of interactions with said seller and he has never been anything but extremely helpful and nice. I'm sure if he wasn't so busy he would have most definitely responded to the OP's PM

My apologies guys I got flooded with PM's yesterday about the differential.. Looks like I was selling it a bit under most haha. Cdn you have a PM back this morning & when we have our next differential I will make sure you have first crack at it. I literally received 20+ PMs on this differential and to be fair I kept the list sequential in offers and accepted. The gentleman that bought it actually sent me the first PM at 8:14AM, by the time yours came across my box was flooded.

I am sure one of the admin's can verify this with the amount of PM's that I did receive yesterday, but to be honest I'm not going to sit here and defend the fact that I deleted a for sale thread that was already sold.

Guys, the thread was removed because Matt received 20 plus PM's in one day on it. All PM's were answered as sold besides the first person to respond who purchased it and thread was removed to not waste the time of other people reading it only to find out it was sold.

My God people...

Sorry, I thought he wasn't a vendor.

It's from the old National Inquirer TV commercials.

I'm glad another crisis was solved.

Thanks Scott, sorry if this disrupted yours or anyone else's day. It just seems a little silly to me I guess.

In the future we will most likely not sell used parts on this forum because of how this simple trans action turned out. Thus eliminating the problem of only one part being available.

Thanks, Doug

You have a reply in your box Scott.. There are three more PMs in my box to answer and they will all be answered accordingly. I try to get to PMs within 24 hours, remember we have direct phone lines here so if you ever have a question please shoot us a call 609 752 0321.

As Doug said, I think we will be passing on selling any single items on the forum anymore as to not create the controversy.

If this is worst thing happening to me or anyone else for that matter in our day, we should consider ourselves lucky. Like I said, no skin off my back. Thats what happens with a good price on a product You get flooded.
[Do you hear that rear gear manufactures]

I wouldn't do that. It was just a little confusion, and I think it's been pretty well handled.
