ive been following this grille since the early summer, and every time they have a deadline they dont reach it, and they make up some sorry excuse for it. Thats why the Mods keep deleting their threads, because each thread people start bashing them because of all the lies and excuses and they show no progress with the grille. I personally cant wait to see it completed im sure it will be great, but that might be in a year or two. And, but Id never buy anything from them with all the excuses they made

If this thread follows down that same path, it will probably be closed to.

AutoAgenda's decision to create a product thread after it is complete and ready for shipment is a professional, logical choice.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a buyer beware thread floating around about bad dealerships that was allowed to continue by the moderators? I would search but I'm on my phone and the connection is poor here.

IMO that is a huge disservice to the camaro community. A place like this is exactly where a buyer beware section should be.
So you are basicly saying, we are ok with companies advertising here, long as they pay you first. But if anyone has a bad experience with a company or anything negative no matter how true, you don't want any of that posted.
Really?

Does this site not have a small amount of responsibility of protecting its users, or at the least allow them to protect themselves? I see people posting negative rants about companies all the time. What's so different about this specific situation?

Hypothetically speaking. Because personally I don't believe these guys are actually trying to take the money and run, although it appeared that way a couple times.
But let's just say, again hypothetically, that they do take the money and run.

How does that make camaro5 look considering all the individual posts cherry picked to be deleted, and eventually entire threads deleted because people were rightfully complaining about the situation. The way I see it, it looks like you are protecting them. And in hind sight I'm sure that's how many would see it also.

Camaro5 shouldn't offer special treatment to anyone or any company. Especially sponsors and or advertisers as that's pretty much a conflict of interest.
Someone advertising here shouldn't allow them special protection from negative views from the people they are pitching their wares to.
When you delete an entire thread, like this one, who exactly does that benefit?
It doesn't benefit camaro5 users. So that only leaves camaro5 itself and the 3rd party company.

I see negative posts about AAC all the time. They aren't complaining about it far as I can tell. People say they suck all the time, and it doesn't seem to stop everyone from shopping with them. No one is cherry picking which post to delete. But there are many people here ( myself included) that will never buy anything from them specifically because of the negative reviews posted here. And I'm happy about that, because otherwise I would of spent money with them and more than likely became one of the many unhappy customers.

So what's so different about this?

Instead of deleting the thread, why not move it to the Vendor review thread? That's what we are all doing, reviewing G5 Concept's business practices and customer relations.

BTW, now they're claiming a reveal at a meet on Feb 18. I predict an unexpected plague of locusts or perhaps it will rain frogs.

Deleting the threads was not special treatment to any one company over another. We maintain a quality atmosphere on this website, vendor-related or no. It just so happened that the quality of the threads about the ******* grill degraded to a point we weren't happy with - so they were deleted, serving no real good purpose, anymore.

Thank you for your thoughts, but we believe our handling of the threads, as each of them progressed, was in the best interested of the website after all things considered.

I would hope this thread doesn't follow down a similar path as the others. Given Auto Agenda's commitment to posting a thread when the product is ready, I'm optimistic it won't.

A warning to people so they know exactly what they are getting into. Seems like a good enough purpose to me. Is this a car site or Disney land? Maybe you guys need to make some rules for vendors, so you don't have guys marketing to your users with no product. Deceiveing people for close to a year, with no product. This happened on your site, and u guys let it. Make no mistake, these guys (guy) used this site as their primary means of advertisement. If you had rules in place for stuff like this, I doubt anyone would even know who these guys are. And maybe, just maybe they would of came with a full prototype first instead of the way it went down.
Maybe it wasn't special treatment, but it definately wasn't in the vain of protecting your user base. I'm pretty sure g5 was more than happy each time a post/ thread was deleted.
So inadvertently, you end up helping them under the impression of trying to keep things PC.

You're trying to put words in my mouth, and red on our hands. I'm sorry you feel the decision to close the thread was slighting members, but I'm afraid we just don't believe that is the case.

We have a wonderful relationship with our vendors, but we do not pretend to have inside information on their product development. On the odd occasion something doesn't go as planned, the best we can do is damage control. In this case, it included removing threads that had long since degraded. But on the same token, we're not going to disclose whether or not the situation was addressed on our end.

I look forward, (and hope for a speedy process) to when those with ******* Grille deposits receive their long-overdue purchase.

It is your choice to kick-in some money to make the product appear or wait until the product is available before you buy.

Were there any C5 peeps actually invited to attend this meet/reveal? I'd have thought there would be pictures up by now if the grille had really made an appearance.

Any updates? Would be neat to see some pictures after everything that has gone on with this grille.

That's it? They said they had a fully functional version on a car, didn't they? That looks about 20 minutes of labor further along than they were back in October.

I was binging smokin' bowties and NY5thGen's websites and FB pages and neither have posted any pics from their mini-grand prix meet that G5 was supposed to reveal at.

Just left the get together, no grille. Thank you
Brent for the invite, I had a great time.

Yet another deadline promised and missed with g5 nowhere to be found.

I am part of NY5thGen and just got home from our grand prix meet tonight. There's no pictures because its still going on, we were just getting together to race some go karts, eat, and drink....that's all. It had nothing to do with G5 concepts or any reveal. I don't know where you got that info from. Another member told me that G5 was suppose to be having some open house earlier today in New Jersey so people could come and see what they've done first hand. Our meet is up in Mount Kisco. Complete opposite direction. I don't know if this is true or not about this open house because I haven't been following anything regarding G5 and I've seen nothing in our forum about them.

Saint Alban - I think everyone was expecting ******* pics from your club's meet because the G5 guys said several times on their Facebook page that the reveal was going to happen on the 18th at the Smokin Bowties & NY5thGen Club gathering.

Not a big surprise they didn't show though. It seems like the best way for them to guarantee nothing actually happens on a certain date, is to say they will do something on that date. The more emphatically they guarantee it, the less likely it will be.
