Hey R-

Corbeau's equivalent (CR1) comes in either grey cloth or grey microsuede center and seat if you are interested. These black version of these are in the Firebird. Just remember with a rollcage your adjustability goes to almost zero.

Glad to hear Brandi v2 is coming along. It ALWAYS takes longer (and costs more) than you think, but what a blast when done !!

We have to bolt the shifter backup into place, fill the diff, lower and start her and check for leaks for a few minutes and then if all is well, raise her back up and hang the exhaust...

Then it's on to the dyno for the first heat/cool cycle...

I'll have a few pics to post in a little while.... I have to get them out of the Camera and resize them...

This is getting very exciting!

I'll have to live vicariously through your car for a while, R.

Corey and I built the catch can for the differential..

We used a piece of aluminum tube and started laughing as one of us would do something to try to make it look better and the other one would do something else... wash rinse repeat... This is the end result...

The part we were laughing about is knowing where it was going to be mounted... It's behind the driver side wheel well up inside the quarter panel.

Oil Cooler...

Corey had ordered an oil cooler for me, and in the interest of not interfering with any air flow through the intercooler...we decided to mount it laying almost flay and put it under the radiator... This meant we had to build a bracket to hold it and a shroud to direct the air through it...

Here is the finished product... Corey had me build/fabricate it and he did the welding... We are working on my Tig welding skills but heavy steel is quite a bit different than aluminum... so... I'm still a ways from fine welding on aluminum...

The shroud is the top side of the bracket and will direct air down through the oil cooler. The air flow into it is straight from the lower grill and is uninterrupted into the shroud...

Ouch.... that's got to hurt...

B. I looked at the seats you mentioned... but I really would like real leather... when I get the recaros... I may take them to an upholstery shop and have silver inserts done... and Brandi embroidered in the heart rest area.... thanks for the suggestion though...

You left too early... Shes still at the shop...

Transmission Version 4 is a piece of shit... I've had it with that pos... it's going in the garbage.... I told Corey I don't want any part or portion of it in my car any more... We talked to RKT 56 and I'll also talk to RPM tomorrow to find something that will 1.) go into gear.... and 2.) stay in the friggin gear when I put it there...

Thanks for stopping by though Mike, I always appreciate your company...

That doesn't sound good. Does this mean Brandi will be resting until the new tranny comes or do you have a tranny suitable for light exercise?

I can drive it if I skip 4th gear all the time...

Sorry, lil frustration bubbling up there...

Yes, I can drive her if needed, but I don't want to risk anything else due to a pos tranny... I doubt anything would happen, but what if it decided to stop shifting into any gear and left me on the side of the road somewhere... I know... devils advocate... but at this point...I have no faith in the pos trans...

I sent Corey the links for the RSG Transzilla... Chris said he saw it at PRI and loved it... I looked at the site and if they back it up at all, I think I'm going to go that route... Others have mentioned the gears wont hold the power... I heard the Black Pig ended up with straight cut gears...Not sure and cant swear to it... The transzilla has 9310 material gears and shafts... (input and output) and I can get it with the SFI bell housing... I'll talk to them and see what they say...

Rick at RKT 56 was very helpful... and at this point, I want something that works and will hold...

Dang. I know delays can be frustrating. But, at least it's early in the year and you have some time to get to events later this spring and into summer.

I know how you feel... sort of. I have had a few delays in my build too. I am determined I will be driving it to the Fest in August though! (Maybe I just jinxed myself.)

Sorry that Brandi's present tranny is a POS. Never goes as smooth as you thingk. I do 2nd Chris' recommendation - RSG are the guys for the high HP builds...

Man, I was hoping that you were going to be all smiles once it was off the lift. Transzilla, huh? That sounds like a beast!

Transzilla is the one my friend went with, and it's supposed to be a beast. His will soon be tested cause he's already over 1000 RWHP after his first dyno pull.

Or you can join us in the 4L80 club, and at the track you'll never have to go to 4th gear!

Is the "POS tranny" the stock tranny that was been built? I tried to look through your thread to see if you replaced it or rebuilt it and didn't find anything. Did I miss something?

Give LPE a call or have Corey call them to get the specifics on the BP Tranny.

No jinxing spoken here... Your car will be ready soon...

Corey spoke with RSG this am... We also got some more information from RKT56 that they can get 9310 gears from their provider. 9310 Gears and shafts would really solidify this thing...

It's pretty amazing...

http://www.rsgear.com/products/trans...tranzilla.aspx

In addition to the trans, this is another piece I'm looking at... I will be getting an SFI approved bell housing and mid plate... From whomever I end up buying from...

I appreciate it Russ, but you know how hard headed I am about my trans...

T-, It's the original transmission that we have been in at least 4 times now... Originally we changed the blockers, sliders and synchros... we have progressed to this time we changed to a 9310 Output shaft with the support bearing, a new input shaft and quite a few other new parts...

With Corey talking to several vendors today, the consensus isthat wither the case or the bell housing is warped/bent etc...

I believe the BP has 9310 gears and is face plated... I've considered face plating the gears and seen several videos of it... but not the way I want to go right now...

If need be, we will contact them... Corey has a couple of good friends there...

looks like you have it pretty under control... I am acquaintances with Craig Liberty, owner of Liberty Gears if they have popped up on your radar at all.

He was going to beef up my 6060 last summer.
you could get one of their prostock trans or the clutchless... haha

I looked at Lenco's but that one is interesting!!! I'm still interested in having street drivability and while seqeuntials are cool, they are not terribly street friendly... But I like that a lot...

There are some beautiful trannies out there, but where do you draw the line between a race car and a street car. Being able to drive it all the time without a gutted interior is worth a lot...

Exactly,

Corey has a loaner trans for me to use for the rest of the days I'm home... bout five... and it will allow us to get some miles on the diff... He drove her a bit today checking some things and he said the new diff is simply amazing... Quiet, smooth, no disengagement noise like the original diff had... and it feels really really solid...

"that car is really easy to drive."
