this guy fell off a bridge and died, then he went to the store for some milk along the way a cow crossed his path so he asked the cow for a ride. While the man was riding the cow he looked over and Stew, you are an idiot for reading this. have fun in this thread

It'd be a drivers race with any wrx through 2008 after which point the wrx got considerably faster. A 2009+ wrx will slaughter a stock v6 camaro in a drag race.

As far as the older ones are concerned, say '02-'08, it's a drivers race. With the '09+ the advantage is decidely with the WRX. I'm not sure I'd be that confident that a V6 Camaro is faster than a WRX, maybe if the WRX were an older slushbox.

Looks are subjective, but the subies definitely don't look like your typical cars. I personally love the blob eyes (my car) and hawk eyes.

^^^ No disrespect...that is an average looking car at best. But that has its advantages...they dont look fast/striking but can be killer. I raced one with some mods which the owner wouldn't fully disclose and I couldnt pull him very decisively until rather high speeds.

blackSSRS...you either change your attitude or you will be gone...I promise you that. The mods on here dont tolerate your type of posting for very long.

No disrespect taken. However I disagree completely about looking average. What cars have similar features, specifically sedans from the same time period? Especially when equipped with the factory gold BBS and sti gold brembos. The cars have never been praised as being beautiful by most standards, but have continually been called unique, especially in the front.

When I said average I wasnt judging on uniqueness...just my opinion of if it looked good. Like 1 to 10 it would be a 5 or a 6.

To each their own man.

Would be a boring world if we all drove around with the same car.

The blue one would look decent with a flat hood and removal of that ridiculous looking wing.

fire your bs meter cause i'm laughing at you and it, you sir are a joke. have a good day

Oh no problem, when you said average I thought you were replying to my comment that they don't look typical. I completely understand the look is in no way for everyone and even I don't think they're the best looking cars around. They are all function over form. That hood scoop feeds the intercooler, it is absolutely necessary unless you run a front mount, and Subaru spent hundreds of thousands of dollars developing the spoiler for high speeds because the car suffered from too much lift over 120mph.

I've said it before, anybody buying a wrx/sti for looks is getting in the wrong car.

I test drove an Evo VIII with upgraded turbo, claimed 400 awhp.... Holy *** is all I can say. I want an Evo or WRX now..... WRX sounds better but Evo is more fun.

Evo's are BAD ASS but in my eyes more of a modded hard core weekend type car vs a DD Subie in 2012.........especially considering the EVO is packing the best turbo 4 cylinder ever put into a car.

11,000rpm shifts start at 2:00

The evos definitely have the better stock motor, especially the IX's. Bigger turbo stock, forged pistons, and a decent sized front mount make it capable of more with bolt ons and more on the stock motor, plus the boxer layout is inherently more laggy than the inline 4. The gearing also makes the 5spd(non-MR) evos much better suited for drag racing as the sti 6 spd is super short 1-4. The sti transmission is much stronger though and the cost of a shep or similar trans in an evo can get you a mean built motor in a subie. $ for $ you're going to go faster in an evo, but once you start building motors or transmissions it's a toss up and both will destroy on track for pretty cheap. Honestly, anything over ~550awhp in an evo or sti is a waste on the street. You can easily trap over 130 and crack 10s with under 600awhp.

There have since been faster and IIRC someone dipped into 8s on the stock trans. The evo vs sti debate goes on and on like mustang vs camaro. Both have pros and cons, just have to decide what you value more. I personally couldn't get over the interior of the evo and the sound is just god awful.

This thread turned left quickly LOL .. But anyways, AWD Turbo platforms are dangerous grounds. There is a kid around here making over 450WHP in his DD Eagle Talon, he delivers chinese food in it, but then rapes "most" of the local muscle cars/tuner cars. The subbi is a nice platform especially the STi, they can be made to be very quick and track worthy cars. If I were to choose I'd go with the EVo however. The 4G63 is probably the' best 4 banger ever. Tons of support and mods avaliable. Comes down to what you want and like, we all choose Camaro's for whatever reasons. We paid more so we expect more, but fact is a old DSM or Subuaru can hang and beat us with the proper mods. But whatever, you think some guy in a Lambo or Ferrari will loose sleep because he lost to a 50K ZL1 or GT500 .. Doubt it.
