I watched a friend in a 98 ls1 firebird beat a 350z easily, and he had no mods, so I know its not a v6, but its much older than your car in a lot of places and has about the same HP rating

The HR 350Z's with good driver(which is rarer then you would think) will run slightly quicker than LT1 F-body. A DE with a good driver will be dead even/slightly slower than LT1 F body. I beat an LS1 Firebird manual, but the driver was horrible and he doesn't know how many gears he has(know him from work, he told me it was an 8-speed manual).

A stock LS1 will keep up with a stock LS3. They were underrated.

I beleive the fastest time for a stock LS1 is 12.6/12.8. Of course, this is an 01 or 02, the 98-00 were slightly slower.

In short, an LS1 car will blow away a V6.

a very close friend of mine has the new 370z and that thing get up and go even when it was stock, usually at the top end tho! his friend has the older 350z with your usual mods and he hate my guts if you know what I mean LOL. Even the 370z doesn't really get too ahead tho, but i'm no near stock either. After my 3.91's this week both of the Z will grow a little more hatred towards the camaro V6 camaro is gaining respect slowly but surely.

How is a low 14 second car with 3.73's going to be even with a solid low 13's car (that can run high 12's/13.0 with i/e/t) ?

Yes it is, there were 4 Camaros (V6 5th gen) at the Test n tune sunday night and all ran 14's(3 of which were definently not stock).... straight from the factory it runs 14's, with an experienced professional driver maybe 14.0-14.1 but we all know average joe going down the strip isn't that.

What he's trying to say is his car isn't stock. He's runs low to mid 13s at the least right now.

the v6 camaros are putting down mid 13's with bolt ons and e85 tune, we are doing even better now with regular gas and slew of new mods. last time I dynoed I was putting down about 8-10% more tq then on e85 tune where I managed 13.5 in 1/4 mile. With this new tune development coming up and 3.91LP's I have no doubt I will manage very low 13's and wouldn't be surprised if I break into 12's. if the z can do better, then more power to them as they are one hell of a car. if I didn't need back seats I would be all over a 370.

It's still automatic, which are .2-.3 slower (based on times I have seen at the track, and read about and talking to co workers who own both)... They are more mid 14 second cars as opposed to low 14s with manual.
Stock strictly speaking. Can't see a car running a whole second faster with a I/e/t.

Okay there were 3, one was an older DE with bolt ons and ran 14.1 @ 101... There was a stock looking HR that ran 13.8 @ 102 and a modified HR that ran 13.5 @ 105(104.6).

Sorry...I was referring to bmorecam's car...not the OPs which I commented on earlier and I still stand by that comment.

How these cars do at the track is heavily dependant on the air quality...as we've had a Camaro V6 here do a 13.79 with just an intake and exhaust.

But bmorecam did a 13.5 on stock tires in warm weather with an E85 tune, headers, intake, and exhaust and that is 3/4 of a second faster than our best stock V6. I have no doubt that his car is now capable of low 13s assuming he gets a good launch which puts it very near to a 370 even when it is ran good.

As for stock versus stock...no one will say a Camaro V6 is just as quick as a 370z. As for the 350Z, well it is a bit quicker as well....unless maybe its the vert one. I've seen a Camaro V6 pull away from one of those but not sure what year it was.

So I'm an experienced professional driver? I consider myself average to slightly above average at drag racing with a manual on street tires and I pulled a 14.3 stock, 14.18 corrected. Someone more skilled about definitely pull a 14.0 through quicker shifting, on a hero run of course.

Its hard as hell to launch a heavy manual rwd car with a wacky first gear ratio.
