Got my SS 2 weeks ago and here's the way my list has started by priority. .

Flowmaster exhaust
H&N cold air intake
Heritage grill
Door mouldings

Think that's a good start on from there probably rims and body kit.

There's really no essential mod. But if you want to start you have to decide wether you want show, go or practical mods. Here's my opinion on the most essential mods.*

Show:
Bowties! Get rid of them or change up the color! Now!
Decals. Not essential but they set your car apart from the rest.*

Go:
Cold Air Intake. Adds some untapped power
Catch can*
Axle back. Doesn't add much go but sounds a lot better when your going

Practical:
Dome lights. They're very bright and helpful
Microfiber cloths. Keep them in the trunk.*

WHAT ARE CAT BACKS FOR THE EXAUST

I'm new to this. Bought the car for the wife for X-Mas, I'm gone all the time on the road so decided to sign her up on this forum so she can look for answers if she needs to. I haven't been into muscle cars since the 80s and not sure of the terms being used. She will not be hot roding it just driving normally, but would like for it to sound good not loud just mean sounding. Thanks!

Essential mods???

Here is what I did and it may be a safety feature as well. At night on really dark and winding roads, it is hard for drivers to see the Camaro well ahead with just the reflectors on the rear lights. The images show the mods that I made on my car for added visibility. What do you think?

I wish i would have put 4.10 gears in sooner, im loving it so far. Intake/Exhaust is also a good mod, I also picked up a few MPG when I did mine.

Spratleyea your car almost looks grey in those pics and looks awesome! back on topic for any manual trans you gotta get rid of the stock shifter... it really is terrible. After that the CAI and a good cat back are pretty much the must haves

Modifications

My short list is: Cold-air intake, Exhaust, and then Suspension. If I find a great deal on wheels then wheels is after the suspension.

Cat Back simply is changing stock exhaust from the catalact converter back (cat back). otherwise axel back is from rear axel only. I know theres alot too learn yep me too LOL!!
Im goin with full cat back system (Flowmaster American Thunder) just dont want any stock exhaust on my car.

A catch can is used to catch debri in your oil so it doesn't get refiltered back into the engine. This is used to keep the oil in the engine as pure as possible and hopefully extend the life of the engine.

Very cool stuff. I am not surprised but am. Here are the quick top results:
Exhaust 20
CAI 17
Tune 8
Headers 6
Rim/Tires 5
Catch Can 5

There are others but I will continue on on going list. I am not surprised by exhaust,CAI,headers,rims...but a TUNE does surprise me. Very good to know for beginners. As we all are modding and adding these performance parts, the tune can help acheive optimal performance with those added parts. Very good contribution guys and gals.
