yea - it was after someone posted a thread about the BMR LCA not fitting their 17"s. I don't think BMR gave a release date though :(

Like Stieger said, there is sometihng in the works...and I considered it due to the availability of tires Icould choose from with that set-up, but I decided to go ahead with this for now... It'll certainly serve my needs and capabilities...

Brandi is already so much faster than her pilot, I need a chance to catch up...

Tires and rims yea, I'm not a wheels guy but apparently it's all about the offsets.

Agreed, I'm nothing of a suspension person, which I why I ask the experts... and the set-up I'm going with is supposed to be fine for what I need right now...

If any problems crop up, I'll deal with them as they come....

That was me and they are. The current BMR LCAs have worse fitment than the stock LCAs do.

There is a 17" Bogart wheel that fits the Brembos and stock LCAs. If I was going with 17" rims, I'd get those. (PTS was selling them, but they must have let their sponsorship lapse because the thread has expired.)

However, I want to go with 16s because there are many more tire options for 16s. I will have to put the V6 rear brakes on it to fit 16s. Also, the stock LCAs will have to be modified OR I'll wait to see if the soon-to-be released BMR LCAs will fit.

Do you mind if I ask what LCA's you are running. I ordered the adjustable ones... and also, how wide are your rear wheels... Mine are a ten inch wheel. I could have gotten an 11 inch wheel but that throws the inner barrel closer to the LCA's if I'm thinking this through correctly...

17 x 10 for the rear, and 17 X 5 for the fronts... with polished Gorilla Lug nuts...

I am ordering a set of adjustable lower control arms, probably BMR, and 28 x 10 x 17 Inch Hoosier Slicks, and M&H Skinnies for the front.

These tires will not see the street as they are race only tires...

Ok, I can't stand it...

Here is some car porn for the hardcore fanatics...

This is a true racing transmission....

Built by RSG, (Rockland Standard Gear)

SFI rated steel bell housing, mid plate, and fully enclosed tail shaft housing... As mentioned before, with the internal shifter components, there will not be any torque or flex pressures applied to the shifting mechanism...

With the Corvette triple cone synchros and upgraded blockers, 9310 Gears and Shafts... It ought to be ready to turn and burn...

I have also ordered the BMR Adjustable Lower Control Arms for the back of Brandi...

I'll have to have these to keep from striking the inner barrel of the wheel against the LCA's during launches...

Thanks Apex-Chase...

Right now I'm running the stock ones. I'm waiting for BMR to come out with their new race LCAs until I decide whether to go with 10" or 11" width on the back.

Here is a thread for you to look at:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208818

I wish I had kept links to all the threads I read about LCAs and wheel fitment. But, I know I read that the current BMR LCAs for racing have worse fitment for 16" wheels than the stock LCAs do.

I got an email from BMR and they told me they are working on new LCAs for smaller wheels like in the thread I posted above.

I'm just saying that if I was going with 17" wheels, I'd go with the Bogarts from PTS. He guarantees they work with the Brembos and the stock LCAs without modification. I believe they are 17x10, but the dang thread has been locked so I can't get at the info and pics right now.

I beleive it is based on the 56... and it has a different gear ratio in it than does the stock 6060... I'll be able to stretch 1st gear out more than tihrty feet off the line.... If you watch a video of the Black Pig running the 8.99, you'll see him shift it seems almost right off the line....

Turbo's love a load, so lets load em and let em work...

I was wondering about the gearing. Good it gets to wind up some before shifting. I like it.

Basically the way the ZL1 does the sway bars. Instead of an end link on a ball joint hooked to a tab, the bar goes all the way around the strut to the end of the LCA and the end link goes straight down to the LCA. No tab, no ball joint.

My wonder was if BMR was doing their new LCAs compatible with that or not.

I'll try and find some pics.

The stock SS has the sway bar stop before the strut and hook to that LCA tab. The ZL1 sway bars go out and around the strut to the end and connect straight down to the LCA base. MUCH better design.
