Kronix, I have to ask---Do you have anything in mind for the sides of the cowl hood? I would like to think this has already been decided, buuuuuuut, something along the lines of the engine cover....made by Roger at Emblempros (of course) would look sweet. I can't get over the look of it along with the badging on the covers!!!!..
I don't think I have been this excited about a car (especially someone else's) since I took-on the task of my 1968 LeMans Blue Sport Coupe.....

Come on, can't wait for the final result!!!.....

I guess I can say it again....WOW!!!!!

Aqua, Lukeko, Nathan & Infinite-T, thank you very much for the compliments!!
Nathan, I'mm surprised you even have time to check out my build considering everything you're doing to your piece!

I've really been having fun building this car, every other vehicle I've had I've modded over time, this was the first time I just blew up and went balls to the wall. I guess not being a kid or having any, and the luxury of another vehicle to drive has helped my cause. I really wanted to get the majority of the car done as soon as I bought it to give my touches and stand out from the crowd. A few things I've learned with this build is, body kits don't always fit right, perfection takes time & money, and the great thing is there's so many aftermarket products out there that you really can make a one of a kind!

I have given some thought to the sides of the cowl & I do have a bunch of custom badging from Roger at Emblempros that will be going on, since all stock badges have been removed. The theme I've tried to keep is basic black, using a mixture of glossy black & matte black. I was thinking about putting SUPERCHARGED on the sides of the cowl, but since the car really doesn't have a secondary color on the exterior like white or silver, I'm really not sure what color I would do it in, besides I do have some subtle badging I got from EmblemPros that says what's under the hood, so for now I'll go with the sleeper effect, especially since I closed up the mailslot people may think it's a V6

The first thing I want to do is get the car out of the damn garage! It hasn't seen the sun in 2 months, but we should be getting an alignment today, I'll wash it and then start to put on the badging. In the meantime, I just ordered a custom painted Strut Tower Brace & Glossy Black DRL Bezels from Lupe @ River City Creations, also adding DRL/Fog Light 30% Tint from Big Worm Graphix (They have some really cool striping BTW). I'm also expecting today my black billet engine caps & strut tower covers. If you read my thread you've seen I had some fitment issues with the MPD1 Z-Force hood & the Pedders coil over adjustment knobs. The solution from Pete at Pedders was to simply remove the knobs after I set them, we could've cutout a 2" circle on the underside of the hood but I wasn't crazy about that idea, so billet covers will do the trick to dress it up a bit.

We did finish up all the electrical stuff on Friday, I know have the DRL harness with a blue LED switch inside the cabin and that will allow me to turn on the DRL at night, especially useful since I added AAC Plasma bulbs to the DRLs. I have no idea why Chevy would've taken away the option to run your fog lights on the 2SS/RS option but I fixed that....Also got the AAC Scanner bars mounted behind the grille, and since Extreme Auto Works is one of my sponsors we added a little evidence of that on the radiator.

This will DEFINITELY be the week the SS hits the streets & I'll have some nice pictures out in the sun, clean & COMPLETE (until I really start working on interior)

AB99, do you know how long I've been looking for that page!!! I saw it like a month ago and forgot where it was, can you get senile at 44? Thank you sir!!You're da man!!
I'll get that video posted proper now!

On another note, I drove the SS today it was AWESOME!!! I took it out for about an hour to see how I like the suspension, ride height, and just go over everything. I had a grin on ear to ear the whole time. Running at 8lbs of boost, that baby was screaming and I definitely know the V1 radar system in my rearview mirror works

So we're making a few little tweaks to the ride height, moving one of my pulleys over a 1/2" closer to the Tensioner, and it was getting aligned this afternoon. Then she has an appointment with the body shop tomorrow at 8am for final buffing, then back to Extreme Auto for decal & badge placement!! I'll will tell you, that baby was snapping some necks today, felt like I was riding on a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day's parade

I don't know how long you had it there, but I just noticed ZL EATR on your avatar. Lol, good one. I'm pretty sure there should be a 1 in there. ;-)

What area are you located again?

I've had that avatar for a while, it's actually available as a plate...I just changed it for ya that one's available too...I've been kicking around a few different ideas.

I'm on the Central coast in Cali, moved here from South Jersey a year ago, but we're moving south to the LA area within the next 60-90 days, as my wife is getting relocated...Thank God!!! Living here is like a slow death, watching paint dry!

I still have properties back in NJ, still kept my Eagles season tickets so I'm back quite a bit.....I've always wanted to come out to Cali so I could surf year round, I'm getting that out of my system and I know one day we'll be back east and I'll definitely still have my SS as it's a lifer, so one day Lukeko we WILL cruise!

BTW, just got a call from the shop, they're putting my car on scales and are going to balance it prior to the alignment. I can't speak highly enough about Ray & Extreme Auto Works, he took this car as if it were his own and he's doing a tremendous job with it, he's still there at 7:30pm balancing it and he actually has more pictures of it than I do...You have to admire someone that takes such pride in their work. I HIGHLY recommend Extreme Auto Works for any Camaro or performance car owner on the Central Coast, if you want fair, honest people working on your car. A good, honest & reliable mechanic is hard to find these days!

Awesome! Congrats on the drive! Perma-grin? I bet you have Ultra-grin. That car is amazing. I'm with you on the 'brand new isn't good enough' train, I just can't go quite as far with my new Camaro, gotta keep the warranty. So I'm limited to mostly cosmetic mods for the 5 years. It'll be unique for sure.

I can't wait to see the full pics!

Thank you ALLTURBO! But did you read my whole thread? My car is completely covered under warranty, Powertrain & all
!! SLP & Chevy work together and as long as a Chevy dealer, GM certified shop or SLP itself do the install then any issues I can bring to any GM dealer for service..Now of course, that doesn't apply to the suspension since it's all been upgraded with Pedders, but in all my years of owning cars (25+) I've never had suspension warranty work needed. The engine & major drivetrain components are all covered for 5yr/100K...Then I'll go headers & cam unless I just say WTF and just do it! But I'm extremely happy with what I drove today!

Thank you all again for the great support I've received here, this place ROCKS!

See Tom, I told you my SS wasn't a figment of my imagination!!!

Oh right... I wasn't thinking about that because it wouldn't apply to me... It's turbo or nothin'. 10psi and meth injection? What warranty? LOL.

Thanks Aqua! I'm on my 3rd Tahoe, I love that model, plenty of room & a great powerplant to work with...That baby is pushing 440 HP!

Now back to the SS!
We had it at the alignment shop on Monday, and it turns out I need to get the Pedders Alignment kit to really dial it in and bring it to Pedders aggressive street spec. So that will be in tomorrow, then install and back to the alignment shop. Never count on your car being done when you think, I learned my lesson a month ago!

We did something fun after the initial alignment and we corner weighed the car. For those of you that aren't familiar with the term, we basically put the car on 4 scales and by adjusting each Pedders Coilover, we are able to equally distribute the weight among the 4 corners. This really improves handling to the upmost degree. We have it close to 50%, which is basically impossible in these cars, it's at 52/48 percent distribution which is very close to a Vette. Here's some pictures of that process & I'm posting a bunch of pictures from the past 2 months of things that were done.

The scales used...

Getting weighed

We also put 190lbs in the driver's seat to compensate for my weight. With the scales, you can dial in the weight front to back, side to side & diagonally so you can achieve a perfect/near perfect balance.
Here it's reading the rear, as noted by the 2 green lights

Here you can see total weight, over 2 tons (It did have a full tank of gas which equals about 170lbs)

Now here are some miscellaneous pictures from the past 2 months.

Pfadt Rear Arms & Stock arms

Rear bushing replacements

Pedders XA Coilovers

Granatelli Motorsports products used in the build: 1G Suspension Brace, 80K Coil Packs & Hi-Temp Wires

We replace the spacer bushings that came with the 1G Brace with a nice beefy custom bushing

Finished products, ours is on the right

Ours on left

Part of the wideband A/F gauge is installing an o2 sensor bung

Finished welded bung

I added the DRL harness & AAC LED switch to control the DRL/Fog lights to come on/off whenever I want. The AAC LED ring has VERY DELICATE pins, so extreme care must be taken when doing the soldering. We soldered, then heat shrunk every wire, then glued & heat shrunk all wires...Very tedious work!

Everything all heat shrunk & glued

From the body shop, closing out the mailslot & painting some things..

MPD1 Smooth Rear Exhaust Panel & stock diffuser

MPD1 Z-Force Ram Air Hood finished at the shop

Tinting the AAC LED Reverse Lights

Another customer's supercharged Stang, we're already planning a little race

Nearly finished product finally seeing the sunlight, I still have to do some work to the 3dCarbon Rear Spats, I wasn't happy with the initial fit, so they're not on the car yet.

With the AAC LED Sidemarkers on..

With AAC Scanner bars mounted behind grille, Red & White with remotes and in cabin toggle switches as well. You can check out the video posted above to see in action. AAC makes awesome products, they have great customer service & know about everything they sell, highly recommended in my book (Especially dealing with Jon & Matt)

98% done!!!

Right now the car's getting buffed out & then tomorrow I'll work on fitting the rear spats, doing some experimental badge placement to see what looks best. Still waiting on my gasket for the CAI to match up with the Z-Force hood from Eric at MPD1...Please Eric, send it!!!
Once the car's back home in my possession I'm planning a nice photo shoot in a nice environment, not just from the shop's complex...Stay tuned for the finished piece & thanks for all the positive comments & feedback

Speechless!

How does your car ride lowered an inch and sitting on 22s?

Thanks guys! Just ironing out some finishing touches on it...Nothing in the aftermarket world is a "perfect fit" Right Paul!!! LOL!!! Thanks for all your help with that issue, again! Pierre, you made the right move getting the AF gauge to the mix, definitely want that since you're going with the Maggie!

Aquablue, thanks so much for being my biggest supporter!! I appreciate it and once I get all the custom badging done & get too detail it and take some nice shots, I'll definitely submit it for COTW!! It would be an honor with all these awesome Camaros on this forum.

J666, there's noo rubbing whatsoever, I made sure of that before I decided to go with 22s, plus with the Pedders coilovers I have full adjustability in ride height also. I also upgraded all the stock bushings to urethane so that gets riid of all the sloppy mush feel, so the car is very solid. I'll be heading to the shop in a few to pick it up and give it a good couple of hours behind the wheel. We still have to add the Pedders Eccentric Bolt kit to really dial it in for the Pedders Aggressive street alignment, but I'm going to see how the ride height is, handling, etc...Yesterday we moved one of the pulley's over per Ted Jannetty's recommendation, and that really tightened up the belt. It's amazing what a great tuner can see from pictures...Great job Ted & your other recommendations will be following shortly!

I'll be back with hopefully some more pics & a ride report....Thanks again for the positive comments all & the support with my build, everyone here has been so helpful & fantastic!!!
