Thumbs up Turbocharged Artisan Camaro SS SA-600 drops down 600hp

Featured on homepage.

600hp enough for ya? Well, Artisan and turbochargers.com will be combining efforts to produce the Artisan SA-600 which will powered by twin turbos strapped onto the LS3 engine, expected to produce approximately 600 horsepowers. The turbo snails will be 2 rear-mounted GTK350 turbos and the rest of the performance mods will include a ECU software, intercooler and cat-back exhaust system.

Cosmetic changes includes, among other things, widebody front and rear fenders (1.5" wider in front / 3" wider in back). You'll need those extra large fenders to fit the superwide 21" front & 22" rear iForged wheels. The SS's stock brakes are upgraded to 14" SSBC big brakes. Expect pricing to be in the range of $70,000 and the SA-600 is expected to be available in June 2009.

this is weak, Mastmotorperformance.com already has camaro packages for 525 hp 545 hp and 600 hp with their heads installed and thats all motor and if you got the L99 they can hook you up with the same thing and you will still have your motor swap from 4 to 8 cylinders. They have cams for both an industry first and they also have the industry first 12 degree head so imaging that with a blower or twin turbo.

Rear Mount Turbos=HORRIBLE Boost Lag and NO full boost till middle gears.

Yes. There have been CUSTOM project RACE CARS that run a good 1/4 mile times with large cubes, high boost, and high stalled automatics.
For a street car, or a manual trans, you do NOT want a rear mount.

If you don't believe or accept what I am saying, go drive a few rear mounts turbo cars, many front mounts, many centrifugal, and many positive displacement supercharger cars to come to your own conclusion.
Or, just listen to someone who has.

If you want to spend the money to buy a package like this,
go to Lingenfelter instead.
They will build you a TVS 2300 or front mount twin turbo.

I'm still waiting for someone to offer the sweet cosmetic work without having to pay for the performance upgrades. Because that LOOKS AWESOME. but 70 grand doesnt.

No thanks. I'll go SC first. Stay NA before both. Leave the FI to the Stangs because they need it.

What's $30K more going to hurt when you're already spending $70K?

Well I don't believe you or blindly accept your assessment about excessive Turbo Lag or a lack of full boost until the middle gears. I like my STS Turbo Charged Camaro.

What other forced induction systems have you personally driven to compare to your STS Camaro?
Who built those cars and what are their combinations?

Drive a front mount twin turbo back to back with your STS. Same thing goes for a Kenne Bell/Whipple/TVS superchargers and then get back to us.
I can request a guy I know PERSONALLY who TRASHED his personal STS systems because he is getting better boost delivery AND more power with a cetri. Both were built by ECS. So, I think he is about unbiased as you can get. The guy has built MANY cars and knows what he is talking about as well.

Ive never been able to compare the two first hand but I have read this more then a couple of times on different forums that rear mounts don't preform as well as front. Does this make it true--no, but its enough to make me a believer. I suppose if I was going to go this route I would look it up first as any of you should if you are considering this 70000$$$$$ beast...

I like the hood decal, otherwise it just looks like a huge cop-caller... like waving a red flag in front of a bull. "Need to make your monthly ticket quota? Here I am!"
