Second wheres Fords Nurburgring lap time? Oh yeah they were too scared to tell us the results I guess. And on top of that the new Shelby costs more than a ZL1 to even compete with it you have to pay more money for all the track options.

Just because a car has more horsepower doesnt mean anything I will admit that the Mustang does have weight on its side but even then the ZL1 and Nissan GT-R have proved cars with weight can still go fast. We will see if the new Shelby can actually put all that power to the wheels or not that will be the key. And really this matchup doesnt mean much because its the end of this generation. The next Mustang comes out in a year in a half its competition wont be the 5th Gen Camaro but a lighter 6th gen Camaro that will more than likely give it fits and then some BUT at least Ford will have IRS and not the ancient live axle the Shelby you like so much has.

Oh yeah heres some more education for you. This is an article that compares the 2013 Shelby GT500 to the 2012 Camaro ZL1 read the bottom of the sides views of both cars- They clearly state that the Camaro looks better from the sides and looks almost super car like. Sorry but the Shelby just doesnt look as good but you can always convince your self other wise. Also read the bottom where they say the Mustangs 6th gen is 2015 where it will finally drop the live axle and face a much lighter 6th gen Camaro

HA!!! Jesus Christ dude, relax. You said the Shelby looked like it was smiling, so I posted that back just as a joke. Apparently you can dish it out but can't take it.

Also, who cares what some article said about looks; they're completely subjective. Both cars look good. I'm not going to get into the rest of your post, because honestly I don't feel like getting in an argument on the internet with someone who is so clearly biased. If you like the Camaro, fine, so do I. No reason to be so anal about it.

Word.

I personally think the new gt500 looks pretty tight. And i would be a fool to deny that its got balls too. But being a chevy fanboy means I couldnt possibly buy one. Its ok to be biased as long as you can dish it and take it in good stride.

oh here we go.

They're just cars! It sounds like you won't be happy until the Mustang ceases to exist.

Me I would rather have more competition. North America is the #1 car market in the world, and has a greater population than Europe and yet Europe has such a wide selection of car brands:
The Germans.. (Porsche, Audi, BMW, MB, Maybach, VW, Opel)
The French.. (Peugeot, Bugatti, Citroen, Renault)
The English.. (Land Rover, Aston Martin, Mini, Bentley, Jaguar)
The Czech.. (Skoda)
The Italians.. (Fiat, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia)
The Spanish.. (Seat)
The Dutch (Spyker)
The Swedes (Volvo, Koenigsegg, Saab - RIP)

If we learn to appreciate variety, North Americans can also enjoy many North American brands, but nooooooooooo!! Here we have rabid brand loyalists who want the utter destruction of brands that compete with their fanboy favorite! It frustrates me when I go to Europe and see so much variety, and then come back to North America and see so much homogeneity - big box stores, Macdonalds/Starbucks on every street corner, rabid fanboys - depressing!!

And don't deny that you want the utter destruction of competing brands, because clearly most people are secure with the existance of the Mustang, and clearly you are not.

Why? Because you cant take the facts I presented to you? LOL

Fact- We dont know which car is faster
Fact- Ford never gave a Nurburgring time

Thats all I said. And I dont take this stuff as seriously as alot of people on here are led to believe if I did I wouldnt have posted the Bullitt Mustang chase scene on these boards. I actually like the improvements made to the 13' Stang they finally fixed the tail lights with some better ones and the front is alright but still not as agressive looking as the Camaro. I just think its rediculous when Mustang fans come on this site saying the Shelby is better when there have been no comparison videos showing the cars capablilities yet. And this is just the opening round of GM getting back in the pony car segment the next round will be a totally different scenario when both cars have similar weight its going to come down to which car is designed better as other sites have been stating.

here he goes with the useless 'ring time again.

BMD on a ZL1 = 12 sec 1/4 (with great driver credit applied)
Blind Monkey on a GT500 = 11.7 1/4

BMD says "Yo yo hold up, I still win because my "maro has a 'ring time."

So now im getting made fun of for having a V6 Camaro? Whats wrong with wanting to have the best looking of the Detroit threes cars right now??? And I could have gotten a base Camaro 1SS but I chose to get the V6 and wait for a new Z28 to come out which I still am continuing to do. The new Z28 will come out next gen lighter than ever before then I will have one

This. I think the auto industry is about to hit the peak in terms of engine output...

Of course the next Gen Mustang will be lighter than the current one. Ford has already stated it would be lighter. Both cars will be lighter.... however the question will be which car will be lighter than the other one? My money will be on the Camaro being lighter since it comes out a year later than the Mustang it would be smart for them to make it lighter after seeing what the new Stang weighs in at.

The next Mustang will be lighter and have more HP than the Camaro. Ford is
not scared to throw HP under the hood.

make it lighter AFTER seeing what the new stang weighs at??? they cant afford to wait that long. The car has to be basically completed and ready to go way before the actual release. Research and development take years.

I thought the bit was funny, I love robot chicken and it is definitely true for a lot of guys out there running around in Stangs. I have long feared that the Mustang will be the new ricer target. Hell it's already happening. BMD never brings anything new, it's either ring times or sales. A robot would be more interesting to converse with.

I love the Mustang and I love what Camaro brings to the table. If I could afford to have both, I would.
