just crunched the numbers; i assumed it would be much cheaper than the plug and play versions available, but not really.

142.58 shipped for the leds
15.96 shipped for the 194 sockets
60.00 shipped for used sidemarkers (want to be able to return to factory, would be able to do that if i bought plug and play ones as well.)
plus paint and primer. have to assume 25.00???

so 243.54 total plus the satisfaction of doing it myself versus 280.00 shipped for a vendors product. so, all in all not saving anything really. but you may see benefits to this DIY as mentioned earlier; the thinner slit, retaining reflector, personal satisfaction, etc.

hmmmmm, not sure where i stand on this, leaning toward DIY, since i do enjoy working on my own car as much as possible.

I priced out mine for the leds shipped and it was 122 bucks and change. I wouldnt care about going back to stock. And make it more personal when i did it vs the price cant be beat.

A long time ago.. When AAC saw my a copy of this DIY thread posted in the Cosmetics section. I was attacked by them. They said theirs is less $$$ and better made. BS!!!!!!!!!

Doing it yourself is 1000 times better quality then AAC's units. And way less $$$.

They know this and they don't want to lose business so they shot my work down.

Mach, this thread is a definite how-to guide when going with led sidemarkers. I followed all instructions and have no regrets. Thx.

Correction: They "tried" to shoot your work down. I like the look you have and if history is any indication you mods will last 10X longer than the other company's products.

Did you make a set Ish? I made a set and installed them in ELA205's car. Unfortunately he was in a car accident and the front ones were busted. I'll have to make another pair for him.

what up J,

Jus saw your post. Yea, I made a set a few months ago after reading this thread. I wanted to get my hands dirty and take a stab at it. They came out pretty bangin tho. Where I kinda effed up was by not heating them up long enough and bending the plastic a lil' too much when taking off the lens. No big deal though, looks clean. =)

How you been? I'm throwing the BMR Lowering Springs on right now.

where can I order some stock side markers? I would love to do this mod but don't want to risk messing up my stock ones.

If you do just want a brighter bulb though. I like these better, especially for the dome lights. They can be as cheap as $1 a pair on eBay.

Nope. None of your exterior bulbs are LEDs besides your halos. This is what's in there stock.

is it me, or do the AAC ones not fit right on most cars. It always looks like they need to be thicker or curved a bit, like they dont fit with the panels.

I guess since they are made from scratch, and not a modified OEM one. All the more reason to DIY

Mine fit fine. They are molded to OEM specs but not made from actual OEM markers. Maybe some inconsistencies in the molds or the extra thickness of paint and/or silicone to seal it makes some fit oddly. Haven't experienced that first hand though.

AND

Second.. That will look just like stock. You will have a ton of light in the middle and nothing on the ends if you paint a slit on the lens.

40-45 leds spaced 1mm apart look much better and brighter.

THATS WHY.

In fact what you could do is get 2 80 led Radiantz Arrays (1 yellow and 1 red).. Then cut them yourself. That comes out to $112.
