Hawaii dealers

Interested in a 2013 2SS. Not impressed by the 2 stealerships I have spoke with so far. Yes I did try to sort through the 150 pages of good vs bad dealers but I want to hear what deals people have gotten in honolulu Hawaii. And what dealership was it.

The dealership I talked to today said they don't do orders. They only take what Chevy gives them. Made no sense to me. Anyone else ever heard of that?

I've never heard of that... though I don't live on a volcano in the middle of the Pacific ocean(kind of wish I did though). Why wouldn't the dealer take an order if you paid the shipping? I'm not sure you would want to pay the shipping however, it might be 5 thousand dollars.

Left there last June, but I bought my 1ss vert from Servco Leeward Chevy for sticker minus USAA discounts. That was also one of the first on Oahu. They were the only dealer that still did not have 3-5k mark ups on the cars. I tried JN, they were ridiculous. With as much as they were charging I could have bought a first class round trip ticket to the LA area, bought a car at under sticker and shipped it back for $1000 on Matson and still saved several grand. I told them that (including showing them ticket prices and ads from dealers) and they only said "have a nice trip, brah!". I do miss the weather there, but..... Not being held hostage to the "you live on an island" perks

Shipping from any major west coast port is $1098, had to pay to ship one of my carsvoff the island when I transferred.

Right, it's coming from the other side of the continent first, on GMs perferred carrier, and would be going to Hawaii after that on GMs preferred carrier. The dealer doesn't own the car til it gets there. I assume he was talking about ordering a car from the Oshawa plant? If he meant buying it from a dealer on the west coast, that's different I guess.

Yea, I remember a guy out there getting one from Becky (in Michigan?) don't know how it was shipped. May have been drop shipped to a west coast dealer or just paid to ship to a west coast port then paid matson to get it to Oahu. either way well less than the 3-5k markup they were asking at the time.

JN is rediculous. Servco said they don't do orders because they tried and never got what they ordered. So they gave up. I want a 1 LE and don't think one will randomly show up. And the odds of it being a combo I like makes it even less likely.

Can one of the dealer types explain the order process? The 3rd dealer on island said they can place orders but they are the hidden fee masters. Undercoat, paint protection, interior protection blah blah blah.

You can order your car from any dealership, mainland or Hawaii, and its the standard destination fee that you pay for it to be shipped. You are going to pay this fee no matter where it goes to. Don't let any dealership or person tell you different. All of the people that I know with Camaros have ordered them from dealerships in Cali and had the destination go to one of the island dealerships. Talk to Jason at Cutter, internet manager, and he will help you out, just make it clear to him that you will not pay the dealership mark up or any other little added fees. It is possible to get a good you Camaro at a decent price out here, just have to be persistent.
