I ordered 4 18x10 with 38mm offset from Tony. I can't wait for them to get here! I still don't know what tire to run, I'm thinking either 274/40, 285/40 or 295/35. So I'm really interested in seeing your 275/40 on 20x10. What wheels are they?

I'm looking at the Drag Wheels DR-37, it comes in either an 18x8, or 18x8.5 in either a 40mm offset, or 15mm offset.
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...8.5&vid=016070 In your opinion, do you think these would work, and clear the SS brakes? According to DTD is says they will fit the 2010 SS, but I don't know that I necessarily trust their website.

If Discouns says they fit, I would go ahead and order them. Worst case is they don't fit and you drop them off at your local Discount tire for a full refund since it is their fault they mislead you to believe they would fit. I didn't like how my 18x8.5 35mm wheels tucked in a little too much up front, so 40 mm would tuck in even more. I would say go with the 15mm offset. It will put the wheels right at the fender. I ran a 12mm spacer on my 18x8.5 35mm fronts (making them a 18x8.5 23mm) and they looked a lot better. Going another 8mm to make them 15mm would be doable and still look good. On the rear the 18x8.5 15mm would put the face almost exactly where my rear 18x11 48mm were and those were the PERFECT fit. I am trying to run the widest square set up possible so I wouldn't go with 8.5" wheels, but you could run a narrow 275/40 18 all the way on those 8.5" wide or a wide 255/45 18 all the way around.

I couldn't find a 255/45 on the summit racing site, but I'm leaning towards the M/T 3780R 26 x 9.50R18
Tire Diameter 25.80 in. Section Width 9.55 in. Tread Width 8.45 in. Minimum Recommended Wheel Width 8.00 in. Maximum Recommended Wheel Width 9.50 in. Looks like it would be the best bet, and still semi-affordable @ $260 ea... Looks like the Dr-37 weighs appx. 23lbs each. and the 26x9.5r18 M/t tire weighs appx 25 lbs., so about 47lbs ea total on the rear... So according to the C5 wiki the oem rear wheels and tires are 68 lbs each - 48 of the new stuff = a 20lb rotational mass weight savings PER side (40lb total)... Seems like a nice gain?? And the OE diameter of 28.66, dropped to 25.8 would essentially make the gear ratio appx 3.83... Will this height change throw off the nanny system sensors, making it inoperable? Also, is it ok to run these drag wheels with no TPMS sensors, or will that also confuse the car? Figure I'm going to be running mid-low 20s in the air pressure so the light would be on anyway, so why even use them if I don't have to?

I Know i say go with the smallest wheel that you can hook on, but why are you going with a 8.5" wheel? It may work well with a stock car but once you start making more power you might be limiting yourself. Why not just go with a 18x9.5 40mm corvette wheel? That way you could run that same tire you found or a little wider. Plus, they are only $140 each SHIPPED! They are the same 23lbs as the 8.5" wheel you found, but wider.

Yes, I would just like to get wheels for the rear, and eventually down the road when funds allow would like to do the CTSV spare skinnies for the front, or similar budget skinny.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refinished-1...sories&vxp=mtr Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my 18x11 F14s, they are an AWESOME wheel. But I think they are kind of a waste of $700 since I only use them once every couple of months.

Thanks for the input, I will definitely pick up a set of these. The F14 are a great looking wheel for sure, but just way outside of my budget.
Tirewise the 9.5 opens up the options some more... Given the options which would you suggest, the same M/T 26x9.5r18, Nitto 555r 305/45/18, or a BFG g-force t/a 275x35x18? Or something else? Preferably in the same price range or cheaper.

I am considering 19x10 +40 wheels all around. Tires could be 275f and 305r or 295 all around. Would these work on a lowered car.

All this is assuming you have stock struts. Some coilovers give you more room and some give you less.

SUX2BU,
Here’s one for ya. I want to run VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SUV SESSANTA TIRES 315/30R22 and 265/35R22 Section Sidewall Diameter 10.43 3.65 29.3 12.4 3.72 29.44 As you can see they are about ― taller than factory with a sidewall somewhere in-between a 20 and a 22. What offsets do you think would be ideal for 9.5 and 11 inch widths? (I’d also go ― wider if they would fit) Thanks for all your good reaserch!

My offsets are in the first post. Since you are using 20" wheels you won't have a problem with the spindles.

Seen your offset recommendations but I have a question. I bought a set of Bravado Americana II that are 18X9 with a 35mm offset in the front. We tested them without tires and they rub the spindle with no spacer used. So if I grind the spindle for clearance things will be ok right? Any help will be great!! Thank you

18X9 with 35mm offset Bravado Americana II
I did the same thing to mine today! I shaved them so I had about a 1/4" between the arm & wheels. I don't know why they don't make them that way from the factory. It makes more sense to have it angled. Here is a picture of my wheels on.
