I'm going to tell you the same thing Ted told me...with an auto, the PD blowers will do more instant torque. A Centri will make power up top and not take away anything down low...also, easier on parts.
IMO, Whipple, Vortech, or ProCharger. Pick from those three. You want to drag race a lot...do a centri. You want something easy to install and less lines to deal with...do a centri. Ted's mail order tune is spot on with my car. I'd recommend Whipple or ProCharger and just get it from Jannetty.

Who cares which one beats the other, it can go either way!! Pick the one you like the best and go get it. I have a whipple so I'm going to tell you to get a whipple, Tom, Dick, and Harry have prochargers and they will say get a procharger. Get the one that you like the best (I bet you already have one you prefer) and pull the trigger. I have seen all different types of FI run the same time slips at the track, comes down to driver in the end. They are all a blast to drive so go get blown lol!!!

That's exactly what you need to do. Ride or, better yet, get behind the wheel of the types you're considering. To me, it's an easy choice. I want all of the boost I'm paying for whenever I hit the go pedal. At 7 to 8psi, there's little or no difference in peak power centri vs P/D. If someone tells you there's a big difference, they're either ignorant or trying to sell you something. Centri's rule when the boost gets higher. P/D's rule at mild boost levels....plain and simple.

Before anyone's panties get bunched, I'm not saying centri's aren't capable of making great power. That's not what is being discussed here. 7 to 8 psi on a street machine.....What a YSI does at 15psi is very impressive. If I wanted those boost/power levels, that would be my choice. I don't and I'm guessing the OP doesn't either.

I just hit 13psi with my d1 with a 3.9 pulley. Car is insane at any rpm. Doesn't hit like a Maggie at first. But will come on boost rather quickly and give u quite a linear power curve.
While the Maggie is spinnin u r winnin

Mine sounds like a turbo spooling when I mash the throttle. I'll have a track time in 2 weeks

Well if I had to do it over again I'd do it the same again with the Vortech. No regrets. Don't know what all the talk is that you'll make more power with th Centri 4K rpms and over anyway. If I just get on the pedal 1/2 way from a stop Iam spinning anyway and will spin again when I hit 2nd gear. You have to feather it not to break the tires loose. And all that 4K and over talk.. if you hit the pedal your at 4K in less than a second anyway. That said it's more efficient than the Maggie (uses less HP to spin the Charger) and it is eaiser on the internals .. I like a nice power curve with the HP and torque not a flat line torque as with the Maggies.. that's just me.

gears...
love them. Go with AAM/Lingenfelter...my dealer does aftermarket stuff as well...they sold me the gears and did the install. Its awesome...like stock quiet. Honestly, the gain from the gears is huge going from 3.27 to 3.70.

As far as superchargers are concerned I like what the Whipple has been doing. I bet at the same boost level it would outperform or hang right with a D1 centri up top but have way more torque down low. All of this of course at psi ranges below 15. A centri is going to make more power than just about any PD blower when the boost and power start to get crazy like above 800RWHP. The Whipple is also going to make more power than a TVS2300 and run cooler while doing it. It wont have as good of a torque hit right off idle but still make more overall power. The other thing I like about it is there is no need to upgrade it until you get in power ranges beyond what the stock motor can do. With the TVS2300 you have to get 8 rib or 10 rib setups with COG drives and OD pulleys and such. They also need inventive ways to cool the IAT's with meth, custom chillers and all kinds off more expensive hardware. By the time you need that stuff for the Whipple your power is going to be past what the stock motor can safely do and the upgrades are going to be the least of your worries. When you factor all the extras the TVS2300 needs the Whipple is alot less $.

Can't hear a PD idle and even less with cams. A Centri has a very distinctive idle whine which makes you know that the sucker is under the hood.
