Injector size calculator???

What fuel pressure do you use at the rail in the injector size calculator on the RCeng.com site see link.

I am assuming 58psi since that is what my gauge connected to the OBDII port reads but i am not sure if there is a drop once it gets to the injector.

I am concerned because using 58psi in the calculations says the injectors will easily suffice....but if dropping the pressure to 43 now the injectors are past 80%. Dont want this new motor blown up even though it has all the best avail internals....run it lean and kaboom!!!!

I have been using this calculator

http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx

My plan is to use FIC 1000 or ID1000s with my new 427LSX running the D1SC to about 800 rwhp and to up it to FIC 2000 or ID2000 when i add the F1X blower from Procharger...running north of 1000rwhp or 1400-1500 at the crank(apparently it takes 300hp to turn that bigass blower to high boost)

Anyone know absolutely if the ID2000 will work well at the lower power level since i would like to avoid buying new injectors a year later with the F1X addition.

I'll let the experts answer the question...

As for the power required to spin that big ass blower to high boost... Think of it stage five afterburner...

And bro, I gotta say... You got it bad... It was just a few months ago you were impressed with my power levels... Now you are joining the insane club... As a full fledged partner... With tenure...

Stage 5 AB, man you're thinking Korean war/vietnam era! Everything nowadays is thrust based on throttle position commanded, real smooth application of the thrust....little flame out the back at min AB, BIG FLAME out the back in full AB. My dad would remember the kick in the pants from the stages on the F4 and F-105!

Yea, the HP thing is addictive, only had the car for 8 month and i have already blown the motor. At least the rest of the car is ready for the big HP. Still waiting on your results with your tranny before i do anything there. Hopefully i can make the LSX last a little longer. I will have this LS3 wet sleeved by ERL and forged/stroked/bored out to 427 to have as a spare. It sucks not having my car!!

I'm no expert, but I can speak from personal experience on the ID1000s. I had my car up to ~900whp and the injectors were not stressed at all. The ID1000s are rated +1000hp correct?

This doesnt give you a direct answer, but from what I understand once you hit 850-900whp, its pretty damn hard to go 1000+whp (and dangerous) even with an LSX block. of course a tune makes a world of difference.

You could always get the ID1000s now and they'll sell pretty fast if you do decide to upgrade.

If your fuel pressure stays at 58psi at WOT then that is what you should put in that table. You should have a boost referenced FPR so that fuel pressure rises with the rise in boost.

The 1,000's should be good for 1000rwhp depending on how efficient(BSFC) your engine is.

The car 750rwhp/800tq on California 91 octane pump gas with those same injectors. Now that the methanol is installed that number should go up. May have to give it some C16 in there also and see what she does.

When I say 58psi I mean 58psi plus how much boost you run so your gauge may show say 70psi(58 + 12 lbs of boost) but it would be like running 58psi. If you don't run a boost referenced regulator then your net fuel pressure is less because it is fighting the pressure(boost) in your intake.

ive used id1000 up to about 1350rwhp (manual trans) starting with a base of 43.5 and running boost ref reg with 20 psi of boost so total pressure of 63 psi but if needed run base at 60 and go from there depending how much boost you run, they will work good up to about 100psi,

at 43.5 they flow 1015cc
at 60 they flow 1180cc
at 80 they flow 1345cc
at 100 they flow 1530cc
after 100psi the flow actually starts to decrease
