Nytrex nitrous kit?

I got this car as a daily driver. My toy car/daily has been been my wrx since 06. Now i see that they make a direct fit kit for this car. Just like my gun habit i always want to go bigger. Any one know about ny-trex? I see they offer a few kits but just wondering before i buy one. Any one ever use their stuff? Thanks

I have it on my 2012 RS 2LT. Took only 1.5 hours to do install. VERY complete kit, very easy to install I have some photos in my albums of the install. Any questions feel free to PM me. I have the 50HP pills in it as of today and it comes on very smooth.

I have been considering nitrous since it will a few years before I can afford around 6k for FI (the lil woman would kill me if I borrowed the money). I just want to know that I have the HP and have a dyno sheet to prove and maybe go to a raceway a few times a year. Do any of you know if running it takes a special tune from Vince vs what you would have for daily driving? I currently have BBK Intake, LT headers, and xpipe, and Dynomax axle back. I have vmax TB and Mace insulator that should be here any day. Also any other info/advice on my system?

Hey Switch,
The following is just my opinion, so it does not start a nitrous system ( brand war ). I'm 50 Y/O and have used many different systems over the years. The Nytrex system I have on my 2012 2LT is VERY simple to install. You should have Vince do a tune for the bottle and also for your mods you already have. Switch between them as you need. I only have a 1,000 miles on my engine at this time. I have GMPP mufflers and no other mods. I run 14.30 @ 98MPH in drive, not sport shift mode on all motor. I have no tune yet and waiting for Trifecta to hook me up with dual tunes. I have sprayed the car with the 50 shot ( not on the track ) and it has a little push to it. I put the 100 pills in today and that gives it a NICE hit. I did wire my system a little different so I can control the hit by a momentary switch instead of the WOT switch. If you are new to spraying I would NOT recommend doing what I did. I have it all tucked away nicely in my console, so it is not easily seen in the car. Any questions feel free to ask me. I am claiming nitrous expert status, just 30 years of learning the hard way what NOT to do. Today's systems from the top companies are all decent systems. I chose the Nytrex because I liked not having to drill or cut in my OEM wiring.
Good Luck with whatever choice you make.
Rick

I ran a 100 shot on the dyno and sent my datalog to Vince, he said everything looked good, so no separate tune for me.

Thank you for your replies. You a few years on me, but not many, however I am new to all this modding. The last car that I had that had some get up and go was my 76 vette with a 400 in it back in the late 80's, but I was too young and poor to do anything to it, college, gas, insurance was taking it all. My wife thanks I am going thru mid-life crisis, but a few years early. Anyway, I have never ran nitrous, so I really appreciate the experience. I have found this forum quite useful in educating me.

Well im late at posting and some of my questions have been answered but i have a few more. Any negatives to this kit? It looks solid but any thing i should be aware of? How many passes could i expect on a 50 shot? I just want it to pull harder like my wrx does when i put the turbo on so i may go to the 100. I know i can look for the answer but how does n2o compare to a turbo? Anyone framilliar with both so i can have knowledge of what it should feel like? Can someone post some pictures of how the solenoids are mounted? I like that they have them all on one block. I am assuming that you will have a cooler fuel temperature since the n2o goes through the block. Any thoughts on this?

I went from nitrous (60 shot wet - fogger style ) to a turbo on my Hayabusa. Two way different worlds, turbo ( T3/T4 10lbs boost ) pulls harder than the 60 shot. The 50 shot on the Camaro is very mild when it is hit from a stop. Don't expect tire blistering take-off ( mine is an automatic transmission ) but a smooth little extra push in the seat. The Nytex kit has all 3 solenoids mounted on a block already. I have pictures in my albums of the setup. Very nice kit, I feel the lines for under the hood could have been an inch or two longer to ease the install, IMO. ** The following is my opinion only ** I took the WOT pedal switch and converted it to a momentary switch I can use with my hand. This way while at the track I could let off the nitrous while still staying at WOT. That way if having a fun run at the track I could always just stay ahead by using only what I need. Remember none of this should ever be done on a public highway. The information and views I have expressed are for track use only. What you do with it.
Have fun.
