Sway bar bolts not straight
Just noticed this when cleaning under the hood. Cause for concern? The bars have been in for 14 months, I just never looked this close, it may have shifted, may have been that way from the start. Excuse the crap cell phone pic.

Bracket gives you room to adjust for each car. Other side is probably like that.

I'm looking more at the side to side space. Both nuts are gripping far more surface on the left side of the bracket than the right.

What brand of sway bar is that? Looks like BMR. The OEM clamps have one round hole and one slightly elongated hole. Looks likes there's too much play in those clamps. Did you do the install? I would loosen them up and reseat the clamps and probably put bigger washers on each side and torque it back up to spec.
If you don't do your own work, I use Supercar Performance right in Minooka to do some of my stuff. The owner Scott is a great guy and does all the work, and his labor rates are low. Coincidentally I used him to put my front sway on because I couldn't get the engine up high enough to slide out the old bar. I'm picking my car up this morning after he did a complete flush of my brake system with Motul 600. Getting ready for this weekend at BlackHawk.

Make sure that the bolts holding the brackets in place are tightened to spec, and if you're really worried about it apply a dab of blue loctite to the threads on installation. The brackets placement relative to the studs looks good, but if you wanted to realign it so that it's perfectly even on the shoulders of the nuts it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Long story short, don't worry about it too much. If it's really bugging you loosen the nuts, reposition the bracket and add a dab of blue loctite to the threads of the studs. |

2012 SS has thicker studs and use 15mm nuts instead of 10mm. You could break off that stud if you mess with it too much, be careful. You could always get a new K member.

Thanks for the tip. He fixed me up this morning. One of the washers was almost completely worn through.

No problem. He just finished up my brakes over the weekend. Waiting for the rest of my suspension stuff to get delivered and he'll be doing the install. I'm using Scott because he'll help me fine tune it as well on the track.
