Garmin Nuvi mounting...Help?

Folks I need some advice/help , looking for a way to mount a Garmin Nuvi 260W, ya I know it is an old model, but this thing has been with me through thick and thin, besides....the color of it maches the interior of my car. It has one of those round adhesive backed mounts that the suction cup bracket can mount to but there really is no where I can be happy mounting it. I really don't want it on my windshield(that thing as small enough already)
I am actually looking at the spot between the Speedo gauge pod and the drivers side door, I guess I can just remove the piece of trim (cloth in my car)
that is around 1''1/2 high and about 4~5'' long, on most other Camaros this piece is painted plastic. will that piece come out? is there any kind of cool "temporary" brackets I can buy? I am also decent at modifying/fabricating a custom bracket if need be. I just want this navigater to mount close to the dash and not stick out at all and be unobtrusive. Any ideas are appreciated

Glad you posted this because I'm in the same situation, and trying to find an ideal position to place my Garmin Nuvi. Hope we find a nice solution.

Here's the fix....I have a Nuvi as well and it attaches very well and easily to the radio face...no damage, easy to read, picks up the satelites with no problem and actually looks pretty cool stuck there. You have to try sometimes a couple times before it adheres since the suction cup and the radio face are close to the same size..but it will work.

I used a part I bought from ProClip, It mounts on the side of the center console.

I used the same mount as 67GTO but mounted it horizontally over the center AC vents. Used a couple of small bolts / nuts and trimmed a small opening in the cloth materiel to make sure the mount stayed attached.

Nuvi mount

I used the following mount from Proclip. It snaps into the AC vent with no damage to the dash. Just add the ball stud mount and your Nuvi will clip right on. Very easy.

Good to hear.
I bought it in spite of the proclip site stating it fits 2010 and 2011.
Haven't tried it yet as I thought it might damage the leather surrounding the center vent.
Will try it tonight when I get home.

I also purchased the console mount from proclip and use it to hold my phone.

Try the ARKON GN097 cigarette lighter mount. Works great for me, but its not up as high as some would like.

I have a Nuvi also and decided to do something unorthodox with it. I gutted my center dash speaker and made my own pop-up navigation. Problem is, I mis-calculated the cutting for the center speaker cover and need to cough up the $137 it costs to replace said grill.

and here is a link to my thread:

Ordered and installed the ProClip mount which hooks onto the center speaker. Besides the expense, $60 plus shipping, it was very easy to install and looks great. Does not block the windshield and very sturdy. A recommended choice.
