Is Drive shaft upgrade needed with built engine ?

Hello camaro5 members,
Am having my engine built (L99) , and final product should be a 7.0 liter displacement engine with a vortech V-3 si trim S/C... on 12 psi I should expect
850 hp / 780 to 800 tq... Am having my tranny built too... My question am I forced to upgrade my stock driveshaft and rear axcles ? Or can thy hold?

Depends on what you are going to do with the car. If you are just going to drive it, then they will hold just fine. If you are going to go to the track on sticky tires, I would upgrade.

The shaft may hold but the bolts tend to bend at that Hp, i would suggest the Axles 1st. then think about a shaft. were working on the new Hammerhead set up and believe the new system will allow you to re-use the DSS 1000 or 1400hp axles (they will bolt right up) if you have any questions let me know. ill help you out.

First off, it's going to be almost my every day car, and I do like to push the car here and there, and almost every Sunday we have like closed road drag race (legally) :-P , stock tiers ,maybe once in a while slicks... and I do like to drift if that makes a difference.

Thx for the feed back !!! :-D

You absolutely need at least Drag Radials on that beast. Don't short yourself with street tires, I'm putting DR on my rear as soon as I can, regular street tires won't do your car justice.
Your differential needs to be upgraded too, along with tranny.

PM sent, maybe the new Hammerhead 12 bolt may be a option in the future i believe the axles we make for the stock diff will bolt right on making it a nice option to do the upgradeds in steps.
