I can't believe I'm going to say this... but...

soon....

I just need to hear back from Nick at American Racing Headers. He's not feeling well so I expect him to call me back so we can finalize the deal.

but in general we are looking at 3 classes.

unlimited, NA with DR's/slicks and a street tire class. And possibly a bracket racing class.

I'll know for sure once I can get in touch with the man at ARH.

Thanks but I am not gonna AutoX mine.

Just did some autocross this weekend at Knight's Stadium in Fort Mill, SC.....FWIW I was able to use my DOT helmet.

Here is a video of my autocross experience from this weekend.....just to give some of the folks an idea of what you will be doing. On a side note, they had one guy doing the staffing, it was pathetic, but the guy was pretty cool

Looked like fun. This is why we're pushing the volunteer piece. One person running a course with 300 cars lined up would be a nightmare. But kudos to the one guy that ran this one!

I get lost in cones. Unless there is some built up rubber at the corners I don't know which way to go.

LOLOLOL yeah........my first run I coasted through it to learn the track. Then I started just ripping through it. There are cones laid out in the track, some on the side, that tell you which way to turn. But once you learn the track on the first run, you don't even look at those things anymore.

I thought pants were only required when going quicker than 10.00 with forced induction or some form of power adder.... Need to go review the rules... Fortunately, I have the full set up from the hoodie to the shoes...

I guess we need some clarification on the pants deal... As the first page rules do list them for faster than 11.49... Wow...ok then...

I have a jacket...just ordered the neck brace and gloves....pants next I guess and maybe boots. What is this hoodie thing? Is that required too?

Edit: Never mind..found it...called a head sock if anyone is interested. Just ordered it.

I have never seen this enforced at any track...I wonder if it's for an open chassis style car. The NHRA rule book is tricky and you really need to pay careful attention and even still it isn't written very well. I'd be willing to bet that the pants are for a roadster style chassis.

Most of the annoying rules kick in at at 9.99 or faster and rightfully so at that level but pants at 11.49 just doesn't sound right to me.

I plan to run the AutoX only. Can I run in two different classes? My car would be considered "modified" without the Pirelli slicks and "super modified" with them. I'd like to run it both ways if possible. Thanks.

Do we have a final decision on the pants, jackets and other safety equipment for the track?

There are a tone more rules involved for the majority of the cars that will be involved. I'm not sure how picky tech will be.....

Driveshaft loop
Metal valve stems
Trans blanket / shield
fire jacket - ANY forced induction
long pants - above 9.99 jeans are fine
Helmet - SNELL 2005
They can check lug nugs
They can check the crotch belt position
They can check the axles
5 point harnesses - In service date - only good for 2 years
SFI Balancer

The list goes on and on but those are the regular ones that I deal with.

Equipment and Tech
  1. HELMET CHANGES!!

    1. There will be 5 loaner helmets on site at the Autocross if you don't have one. If folks have more than one and want to loan that would help out too, but 5 will be on hand.

    2. Snell M rated helmets (2010) will be allowed on the Autocross.
